If the Muslims were smart, now they would demand the return of Ceuta, Melilla and even little Perejil Island - all of which are in the midst of Muslim lands in North Africa and held by Spain. He would have to buckle. They might blow up a train or something.

They will. In fact, they have been doing so for years, and one of the first things many Spaniards thought upon the election of Zapatero is that Spain will now be driven out of North Africa (where it's "roots" go back further than those of the Moroccan monarchy that wants to take over, btw).

This would not be good, since Morocco has powerful extremist forces and it would leave Muslims alone in control of that side of the Straits. However, considering the kind of "ally" that Spain has shown itself to be, I guess it probably wouldn't matter after all.
