WABC's radio's Bachelor & John Loftis (sp) reporting Syria gave Iraq's chemical WMD to AlQaeda. Captured trucks in Jordan with chemicals with Vx attack would have killed 20,000.

the stuff about the planned attack in Jordan is in the press - but the story is getting very little coverage. I don't see anything about the London/Paris angle, but then again, its not like they are going to issue a "red alert - VX gas attack coming". it would be like when our terror alert level is raised, the details aren't provided.

It blows my mind how this story is not breaking news on every major network. At the very least, it warrants a "Fox News Alert". Lord knows the standard for a Fox alert is fairly low.

"In July the BBC ran an episode of their series "Spooks" on the subject of an exercise to deal with a VX Nerve gas attack on London and Edinburgh. In this simulation, terrorists explode a transit van containing drums of VX agent in the centre of London, and the program examined the subsequent actions of a team at MI5 in response to the incident. Although the program is intended as entertainment, it did raise some valid points about preparations to deal with these threats. In one scene the protective gear issued was found to be the wrong type, and as it offered no real protection against VX, it was decided to not wear the masks & suits at all. At one point, a shelter was described as being unusable, because "...they hadn't finished building it yet..".

Interesting in light of the reported findings in Jordan.

First Tom Clancy and now an episode of "Spooks" on the BBC emulated by whackjobs.

Hopefully the CIA has somebody reading the doomsday fiction.

Jordan postpones Bush meeting

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Jordan's King Abdullah postponed a meeting with President George W. Bush scheduled for Wednesday, citing concerns about Washington's position on the Middle East peace process, officials said on Monday.

King Abdullah cancelled his trip to the USA today. Reasons given are bogus. He is afraid of a pending coup or major terrorist attack immenently with the help of Syria/Al-Quada.

It's being rescheduled for May: "...The embassy said Jordan's Foreign Minister, Marwan al-Muasher, was in Washington to "resume talks with administration officials and to prepare for (Abdullah's) visit in May."

Last week Jordan criticised Washington for backing Israeli plans to keep parts of the occupied West Bank before a final Arab-Israeli peace accord was reached by the parties to the conflict.

Al-Qaeda planned chemical bomb attack (Jordan)

"..Jordan's King Abdullah II said in a letter of thanks published this week to his intelligence chief, General Saad Kheir, that the arrests of the terror cell members had "saved thousands of lives".

Had the chemical bomb plot not been uncovered, King Abdullah wrote, Jordan would have seen "a crime that would have been unprecedented in the country in terms of the size of explosives mounted on the vehicles and the methods of carrying out the attacks or the civilian locations chosen".

Yesterday, the officials said the terror cell was also apparently planning to carry out simultaneous poison-gas attacks against foreign diplomatic missions, including the heavily fortified US embassy in Amman, vital Jordanian public establishments such as the Prime Minister's office and unspecified civilian targets..."

They are getting more specific in their claims of poison gas.

I was wondering whether I was the only person connecting the two items - the media certainly does not seem to have made the connection, and is instead trumpeting it as a snub to President Bush. The Jordanian king has apparently been in the US for much of the last week (but not in contact with US government officials? unlikely, isn't it?), but is suddenly going home, and this does indeed sound like a cover story intended either to confuse various enemies, shore up some support at home among the hordes in the street, etc. But something big definitely appears to be afoot...
