Why would Clinton cover up Muslim involvement in the OKC bombing?

Simple. Like him or not, agree with his approach or not, Clinton was actively involved in negotiating a settlement between Rabin and Arafat. Things were looking pretty good for Clinton at the time. If he could pull it off, it was a certain Nobel Peace Prize.

Of course, it was a tenous negotiation with an exceptionally untrustworthy Arafat. Negotiations would certainly be derailed if US public opinion rallied to obtain justice for Muslim sponsors of the OKC bombing. Many Muslims - Al Queda, Iran, and many others -- already saw the US as an enemy of Islam. Arafat would be unable to continue any dialogue with the US if it became more actively belligerent with Iraq. (In retrospect, it seems clear that he was negotiating in bad faith anyway.)

I am not saying that this OKC conspiracy theory is correct ... but, if it were, Clinton would have strong motivations to cover up.

A thornier question of motivation relates to the linkage between a pair of rednecks from a Christian culture with a bunch of crazed Islamofascists or Iraqis. They do have one thing in common, though, and that is anti-Semitism. I suppose McVey was disenchanted with the motives for Gulf War I, but just how would make the connections with Iraqi agents? It seems to be a bit of a stretch, but more unusual things have happened in history.

Think of Mc Veigh as being a dedicated and talented undercover agent, led to believe he was an important part of an operation against the enemy he'd faced in Iraq, working for a *good guy* federal agency rather than the *jackboots* of the FBI or BATF. And that any of McVeigh's dabbling with right-wing militia or KKK groups he'd have loathed for their unmilitary lack of discipline and structure would have been a part of his cover, as directed by the case officer controlling him, and who would have introduced him to other *undercover operators* like Strassmeyer.

That would also explain McVeigh and his friend Sp/4 Mitch Whitmire suddenly withdrawing their applications for Special Forces *Q-school* training after a private interview with an unidentified officer. They may have thought they were working at something beyond Special Forces operational activity, or had been told that they'd be given a later opportunity to attend the SF course after their Very Important Mission was concluded. That's classic *black operation* recruitment and utilization- which they'd have known if they'd gone on to become SF Operations Sergeants.

I think more along the lines of...its already done, why scare people or make them think we were lax or inattentive, or that we are really, really vulnerable, when we can stick this on these white trash peons and make a good case of it?

if a football player gets tackled especially brutally, he will get up right away and grin...never wants the enemy to think he is hurt...

same with OKlahoma and I believe also the TWA800.....

we didn't want the terrorist to think we had been hurt too bad.....

and we didn't want the American people to get "upset"...afterall.....the elections and all....got to put a happy face on.....
