The most inspiring film I have ever seen, sparked by the courage of a leader and warrior heroes under this angel's light--

--now raised to provide wider coverage.

Oh, goodness, I'm so very sorry to hear of Mrs Moore's sudden passing. My prayers are with Lt. General Moore and his family during this sad time.
"In thy faint slumbers I by thee have watch'd
And heard thee murmur tales of iron wars..."
The above quote, taken from Shakespeare, was featured on page one of the Prologue to We Were Soldiers Once and Young.

Young men who did their best

Into the fire was the test

Led, they did prevail

Courage, duty, honor did not fail

As they fought and some lost lives

Back at home, were waiting wives

There is one who now has gone

Though She will never be alone

But this is not the end

In heaven there are 1st Calv who say,

"We will teach you how to fly my friend"

They started out at Ft Bennings Kelly Hill. Today, I have a son on Kelly Hill. He returned there last Summer from Iraq with the rest of the 3d Infantry Division. Going back again this fall. If you ever get to Columbus GA, visit a piece of history (Ft Benning) and hear the ghosts in the Post Cemetary, the housing areas where they lived and the now condemned old barracks on Kelly Hill. May she rest in piece.

I'm watching the movie for the umpteenth time and remembered your thread about Julie Moore passing away. Question ... has there ever been any Presidential notice of Mrs. Moore's role on the home front? I pray that time is not too short for that to happen.

It's a reassuring to know she has gone on to a better place and they can be together again.
A big *salute* to all military spouses who have stood by their beloved through trying times.

.

The only recognition here for Mrs. JULIE MOORE's Heroism during our Battle of IA DRANG-1965 was when President BUSH saw a Preview of "WE WERE SOLDIERS" in the presence of MOORE, CRANDALL, MEL and RANDALL in the White House.

RANDALL WALLACE's stirring hymn 'Mansions of the Lord' that concludes "WE WERE SOLDIERS" has now been adopted by the REAGAN Presidential Lilbrary as 'The REAGAN Recessional' Hymn that concluded REAGAN's Washington National Cathedral Funeral Service to the acclaim of many.

GOD is Good.

Godspeed to Mrs. Moore.

'They also serve who only stand and wait'....but Mrs. Moore took it to another level. She actively stood watch.
