white al-kaida?
in addition: short history of serb-muslim conflicts looked upon from the other side
Posted on 04/18/2004 6:43:06 PM PDT by captain albala
White Al-kaida could be more dangerous than "arab" one. Bosnian and albanian muslims look like other europeans, white, some even blond or with red hair. It is well known that clinton's administration worked all together with Iran to send weapons to bosnian muslims but also mujaheedins. Our troops killed few od them finding their pics with serbian heads in their hands and in amo-cashes. Many of them are full bosnian citizens now, spreading their methods among bosnian youth. Al-Kaida was reported as one of the supporters of Kosovo albanians prior bombing and war of 1999.
Madrid attack and young bosnian muslim suspected
Another key suspect, Moroccan Jamal Zougam, is in custody facing provisional charges of murder and terrorism along with 14 other detainees.
Police also want to question three fugitives, named as Amer El Aziz, Sanel Sjekirica (Bosnian muslim, my comment) and Rabei Ousmane Ahmed, whose nationalities have not been made public.

I recall reading some time back that al Quaida was trying to recruit Caucasian-looking people for use as Islamikazis.
If we get attacked again, you can just about bet that it will be carried out by some of these, who will get ignored while they're on their way to their target because they're not "Middle Eastern Looking"...

Uhmmm. I think Arabs are mainly caucasian, that would make them "white". Ever check out some of those Arabs in Palestine and Syria?? Some of them have blonde hair or red hair and blue or green eyes.

Please return to the thread for discussion & let us know if you are in Serbia or the area.
Thank you for the links. Both the pragueonline article & position paper of the Republican party (the party represented by the vast majority at FR) share common concern & references to the KLA.

"In addition, there are media reports that the recent embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania may be connected to the deportation from Albania of several members of an Islamic terrorist cell connected to Saudi expatriate Osama Bin Laden; questions are now being raised as to the activities of radical Islamic groups in Albania, particularly in the region around the town of Tropoje, a known KLA staging area ["U.S. Blasts' Possible Mideast Ties: Alleged Terrorists Investigated in Albania," Washington Post, 8/12/98].
This possible connection raises serious implications for the Clinton Administration's regional policy: "One of the most disturbing aspects of the present [terrorism] crisis is that it may have been triggered by our own inept foreign policy in Bosnia and Kosovo. There, beyond all common sense, we find ourselves championing Muslim factions who draw support from the very Islamic fundamentalist terrorist groups who are our mortal enemies elsewhere" ["Bringing terrorists to justice," by Col. Hello people,
Yes, I live near Belgrade, Batajnica millitary airport in fact (it was not boring during spring of 1999. here :-) and I'm realy into Balkan poltics and International relations, since I study law and will study IR in USA. Hopefuly :-)
I'm Serbian, so don't let my nick trick you, since it's jewish last name. I just want to say this, briefly and proudly - Serbia, small constitutional kingdom, was the first state besides great britain to congratulate and wish all the best to jewish people in 1917, in relation to the famous Balfour declaration. And it was all because of serbian minister Milenko Vesnich and captain of the Serbian WW1 Army, David Albala.
Now, yes, I'm here to present informations and links from serbian side. I would be grateful if you do not label my posts "a priori" as biased, one-sided, since I'm serbian that believs his nation was not wrong in recent balkan conflicts. But it was that our leaders were bunch of mediocres that believed international law and UN mean something so they don't have to pay to public relations companies.
YUGOSLAV TRUTHS ARE NOT ALL GOOD TO BE TOLD

Anyway, I just ask for critical, as much as possible argument discussions on what the h*** is going on! I'm here to learn about what people in US think about all this, and especialy supporters of GOP :-)
I send you my regards from Belgrade, hoping you'll find my english above minimum required for decent discussion.
I wish you all health.

p.s. I would be grateful if someone could advise me on how to check for other posts, like, how can I at once see News/Activism, or Israel, or Religion list of threads? Is there some kind of list, or anything? In one word, how to surf the discussion boards? Thanx!

I've been saying this for awhile, since 9/11 really. It's why "profiling" of the type the Islamophobes want won't work. There's Muslims in Bosnia, Albania, the old Soviet Republics, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and sub-saharan Africa that don't "look Middle Eastern".

Welcome to FR.
Balkan Al Qaeda is no secret for Freepers, search under BALKANALQAEDA keyword
We warned repeatedly here on FR even before 9-11 about futility of racial profiling because of Caucasian AQ. We warned of Bosnia hub long before Madrid 3-11.
The latest development to follow is how KLA heroin network can be used for AQ logistics (KLA can smuggle people easily from Istanbul to Moscow, Scadianvia, Belgium, Britain, Switzerland, Spain and back.)

Welcome to FreeRepubic!
I wonder if you would care to share some of your opinions of the Bosnians. Our city of Jacksonville, Florida received an influx of approximately 5500 Bosnian Muslims back in the late 90s. They don't appear to be particularly devout, but they have filled a large portion of the entry level job positions all around the city. There has been almost no discussion of them in the local papers, so I'm curious.

Interesting thing about Albanian mafia is it's organization. Virtualy impossible to place a spy in it. Because it's based on clan organization. Everyone know their family lines, who's who, and their personal families are in danger if they try something against the clan. They wiped out italian mob in some northern parts of italy, and are very strong now in London, Germany, Switzerland, and some central european countries. I hear they're strong in NY, pushing Sicilians out.
Having Kosovo (and Albania) as safety zones for their bases, they don't have to worry.
Before 1990's, there were parts of belgrade where serbian gangsters were not able to enter, because it was kosovo albanian's mafia "territory".
Bosnian muslims? Well, as persons, as individuals, muslims from bosnia and parts of Serbia&Montenegro are excellent people. Very good friends, hospitable, would drink with you, I mean, they are Serbs who converted to Islam during turkish occupation. But, being proud, almost noone would admit it frankly. In 1991 and 1992, there was strong movement among them to stay friends with serbs. People like Fikret Abdic, Adil Zulfikarpasic... But fundamentalist islamists won, headed by Alija Izetbegovic. He went on in his book reprinted in 1990. saying that there "can be no peace between islamic religion and non-islamic political institutions", and simmilar. That was the end. Serbs would have never again allow themselves to be dominated by croats-muslims in Bosnia. Especially after they started revising history of WW2, claiming no genocide had happened over serbs, while breeching constitution of Bosnia as well as Yugoslavia.
So, once they appear as majority, situation changes. They start harassing people, imposing their domination. Imagine this - in Novi Pazar (Serbia) with muslim absolute majority, there was volleyball game between serbia and turkey. junior women teams. So, imagine everyone at the game cheering for turkey against country where they live, waving turkish flags and throwing objects on our girls! My mom is serbian from that area, and I have relatives there. Another example. In 2002. Serbia won the world basketball championship, beating USA and Argentina (We're so good in basketball, hey did you know Peja Stojakovic of Sacramento Kings was a serbian refugee from Croatia?), and so, people (Serbs) in all major towns in serbia went in to streets to celebrate, dance, drink etc. But in Novi Pazar there was great fight between serbs and muslims, because muslims, being majority, couldn't tolerate serbs celebrating victory. I have relatives involved in the clashes. There was no dead, but lot's of wounded. No fire arms if you ask.
So, expect those muslims to be good neighbours (maybe somewhat confused with changed place of residence, bosnia is not usa :-), but I wouldn't be surprised if few of them are radical and fundamentalist. And, ofcourse, pray that you never become minority among muslim majority.
There's lot's of great info on www.kosovo.com and www.balkan-archive.org.yu
There is also great number of great and correct informations on what's going on here at www.srpska-mreza.com , but they tend to be somewhat pro-milosevic and anti-usa, making almost no difference considering who's on power. But their "library" section is excellent, you could learn a lot there.
Srebrenica was great serbian mistake. We shouldn't have executed those scumbags. Srebrenica was used to cover the greatest ethnic cleansing performed by Croatia against Krajina Serbs. Well over 250 000 people in one long line. My relatives (since I'm from there) were bombed by artilery and croatian air forces. trip took 8 days, and usualy you get it in one day. My relatives had no socks in their boots once they were able to remove boots. In Serbia. Awful. What croatian fascist in WW2 didn't do, croatian fascist in 1995 did.
One more thing about Srebrenica. It was declared by UN to be the safe zone. That means, no attacks on it, but also no army in it. and no attacks from within it. But that was going on all the way from St. George's day in 1992, to 1995. Naser Oric (now in International court for crimes in Yugoslavia) and his thugs would raid serbian villages around srebrenica, taking no prisoners (please surf the sites I posted, to see more). They were killing women and children. Plundering.
In 1995, ratko Mladic offered them to surrender, guaranteening their lives in presence of UN, recorded by BBC. They refused. In fact, they did one of the most complicated millitary operations - breaktrough. Serbs left one corridor for muslims, taking positions in surronding hills. So, serbs were blasting hell out of the muslim fighters. Most of them was killed there. In breaktrough. Just small part was executed in rage, as revenge, by local serbs. It was completely not in accordance to serbian millitary tradition. But our chain of command was almost in collapse.
So, about 5000 muslims reached Tuzla, and madia war did the rest. Muslim civilians were loaded on serbian and UN buses and sent to muslim held territory. And gas was provided by serbs, although since Milosevic put up sanctions against bosnian serbs in 1994, it was so precious. Hell, our own refugees from western bosnia and Krajina, just 3 weeks after srebrenica had no gas enough.
I'm sorry for writing so much, since I know people don't read long posts, but words just fly from the keyboard :-)
I wish you all health!

I know a few Muslims from Bosnia. They're white, they're Muslim, and they hate America.
I honestly think they're more dangerous than any Omar, Hassan, Mohammed, or Achmed.

hello there!
Thanks for your kind words,
I just pray my nation would get chance to explain what was/is going on. We share the same values, based on our democaratic 19th century traditions, based on bilateral agreement with USA from 1883, and not some communist state ruled by croatian dictator Tito, or an asshole like Milosevic.

Okay, you say you live near Batajnica. Isn't that one of the alleged sites where Kosovo Albanians were said to be buried? I wonder if you saw any film or photos of this alleged mass grave - or if you went there yourself to see what you could. There've been no photos or footage (foreign or domestic) of buried bodies there to my knowledge. There was footage of bulldozers moving dirt around but no bodies in sight.
Also, where can you get the names and autopsy reports of the ones who have been identified. It is my belief that some bodies from the Kosovo war and its aftermath were transported to Serbia and taken by corrupt/puppet Serbian officials and put into storage somewhere to then be identified and autopsied. There was a Kosovo Albanian at the trial who claimed he saw the bodies being dug up in 2000 by the UN, which would make the 1999 transfer of bodies during the NATO bombing impossible. (He could have made a mistake, though, from was he was scripted to say.) I even e-mailed the Serbian Government to try to get a list of the names and forensic evidence, and I received no reply. There were also some bodies buried in Novi Sad which had come down the river from Croatia. They never gave the ethnicity of these bodies from Croatia which were identified last year. I suspect they were Serbs or mostly Serbs because foreign reporters can't pass up an opportunity to demonize Serbs. There are photos of bodies in the river near Vukovar on the internet, and they are all identified as Serbs and their names are given. I can't find any identified as Croats.

Yes, Batajnica is said to be a location of mass grave of Kosovo Albanians. Civilians can't go there, since it's camp of special antiterrorist unit. So called SAJ. I didn't see anything more then what you said. Buldozers and dirt. I mean, this whole story is full of questions. Why did they transport them from Kosovo? Batajnica area is north from Belgrade, flat as... as... glass! First, by the whole story, bodies were in freezer truck, dumped in the Danube. Then, police took it from the danube (!) and moved it around untill it finaly ended up in Batajnica. Damn, they could have burned the bodies everywhere along the road to belgrade, in mountains and hills, not in flatt area as it is here. It makes no sense, and I'm in favour of inteeligence operation explanation. Especialy because the police general involved in exposing everything left the country. It makes no sense. There were bodies floating down the Danube from croatia, like in WW2 when Serbs where found all the way down the river in Belgrade. But there were many murders in kosovo, why transporting anything to Belgrade, near foreign reporters, secret agents? Milosevic's system was full of foreign secret service agents. General Perisic for example was arrested while giving informations to CIA chief for balkans, AFTER, Milosevic lost power. How many others? Before bombing started, our forces were ordered to risk their lives, just to avoid civilian casualties among albanians. Not because we loved them, but because we saw what had happened in Bosnia and croatia, where serbs were accused for crimes against civilians, more false than true. I have relatives in special units, artillery, friends who served army as 20-year olds, so I know their stories. It was like Israelis in Jenin. 26 IDF dead because they couldn't use artilery to avoid palestinian civilans get killed. And then EU and arabs would go on screeaming about israeli crimes, ethnic cleansing and BS.
But, once bombing started, police and army were forcing civilians to leave areas of fierce fightings. If civilians didn't move, or KLA used civilian areas to attack our troops, we would raze the whole place down. Under bombing, we threw KLA out of Kosovo, but there was great increase in refugees. We had albanians fleeing to nrthern and central serbia, because these parts were less bombed. Serbs were running away to. There was no planned ethnic cleansing, but there were very rough army activities in order to protect soldiers and mechanisation (tanks, APCs, artilery)... Spanish pathologists after the war, have found about 2000 bodies, serbs and albanians, muslims burried in muslim way. You can find article on that in www.emperor-clothes.com if I recall. Spanish examiners were said to get prepared for tens of thousands of dead albanian civilians in mass graves. You can read more there.
Well, my government is in bad position, we're not organised, we lost media war completely. And now, if we say we're not genocidal, we're not criminals, we didn't attack anyone, but were attacked (in bosnia and croatia too!), we would be labeled as Milosevic's powers and isolated. We have to obay this, because, how could US gov say it was wrong what was done in the balkans, portraying serbs as agresors and bad guys? But I hope this would be corrected, if not formaly , then on the ground. We're the only secure allie in the Balkans, croats would join germans as before, Bulgarians and romanians are "allies" because US is the only superpower, not because they share the same values. They were with USSR back then, and with germans in WW2 and WW1. Always with stronger one. Not because of high values and principles.
Again, I wrote lenghty post.

Captain, thank you for returning to the thread. I'm not aware of other freepers residing in Serbia, appreciation sent for your insight.
Please share your opinion on the situation in Kosovo; how the media, population & government view recently announced plans of Kosovo PM to "secede in September 2005 if the United Nations has not made substantial progress on the province's future by then."
You are correct, the PR war is on. Watching for a report due soon from the Chicago-Kent Law Review (former Kosova Foundation primary supporter) "containing law review articles prepared by symposium participants analyzing specific legal aspects of final status."

Serbian people is aware that Kosovo question is in hands of USA and EU. Above that, serbs know they're not viewed as allies in the West. They feel unjustice was done to them in Kosovo, although they still hate Milosevic. They expect West to realise Albanians are not civilised people, don't share values of democracy and rule of law. What they did in march by burning down about 35 medieval churches and sacral objects, several hundreds serbian homes, killing 10 serbs, and ethnicly cleansing several serbian ghettos (mostly in central and southern parts of Kosovo) was not retaliation, revenge, for serbian "crimes" commited before, but continuation of what albanians were doing during communist dictator Tito's (himself a Croat) rule in Yugoslavia, as well as during WW2 and in 19th century and before, during turkish empire.
So, Serbs see that albanians can say what they want, unless US aproves it.
As for the media war. We already lost it. In march ethnic cleansing of serbian ghettos and destruction of medieval churches, there was two attacks on mosques in serbia. Police tried to stop the mob (mostly football fans), but failed. High serbian church official, bishop Amphilochie, stood infront of the mob, trying to protect the mosque, but the mob didn't listen. There was about 10 heavily injured policemen, and more lightly. Minister of Police was called in public to resign, but he survived. State officials visited belgrade mufti JusuphSpahich, assuring him that all the damage will be promptly repaired. Vice-president of "nationalist" Serbian Radical Party, Nikolich, visited belgrade mosque and Mufti, presenting two PC's few days ago, calling belgrade Mufti "serbian patriot", mentioning some "christians that could look upon mufti's patriotism".
But, in BBC site, there were 7 pics from "Kosovo Riots", Five of them of those two mosques, and two from Kosovo. Out of these two pics from Kosovo, one is KFOR soldier sitting on an APC, and the other is from serbian funeral. Nothing else. So, the image was like "Ethnic conflict", "ethnic violence", etc. But in fact it was classic 19th century POGROM, ethnic cleansing.
Last events in clash between US and Jordanian soldiers is another proof. Americans were taken care of in serbian hospital, and serbs gave blood for them. But I didn't see more news on that, maybe because of situation in iraq, maybe not.
Serbs expect that now , having Milosevic in trial, Serbs will return in alliance with USA, where they belong, sharing traditions of WW2 and WW1,and 19th century contacts.
Ofcourse, Serbs are pissed of because of American support to croats, bosnian muslims and albanians, but they would be ready to re-enter alliance with USA, since it's only way to clear serbian name of wrong charges for agression, crimes, etc.
I wish you health!
