WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Jamie Gorelick, a member of the commission investigating the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, said Saturday that she received death threats this week after a number of conservatives alleged that her former work in the Justice Department may have contributed to failures leading to the attacks.
In the mid-1990s, Gorelick served as deputy attorney general of the United States. During that time, she wrote a memorandum establishing distinctions between intelligence that could be used for law-enforcement purposes and intelligence that could be used for national security purposes.
That separation was originally required as a safeguard against abuse of citizens' rights by government investigative agencies. But passage of the Patriot Act in the wake of the attacks eliminated the requirement.
The so-called "wall" governing intelligence uses has been a key subject at hearings of the commission. It has been blamed for being a main obstacle to better sharing of information in connection with the September 11 attacks.
"I can confirm that I've received threats at my office and my home," she told CNN on Saturday. "I did get a bomb threat to my home."
She added, "I have gotten a lot of very vile e-mails. The bomb threat was by phone."
ABC News first reported the story Saturday.

I don't believe Gorelick. She's a Clinton stooge and we've all seen this "play" before. Their entire act is a shell game.

However, this kind of thing has been used in the past by Clinton people to gin up sympathy, and therefore avoid the real issue at hand.
Exactly. The Clintonites know how to play the "victim card"...aided of course by their lap dogs in the press.

I guess she doesn't appreciate how we are all threatened by her terror enabling policies.
To: Glenn
Does this publicized allegation of hers mean that she thinks she is losing the PR war?

I do not believe the threats. I do not believe her. What does she know about old Craig Livingston? Her old law firm helped him out a bit.

It's quite a shift.
In our parents'/grandparents' day, the goal was to distinguish oneself by accomplishment.
Today, it is to achieve victim status.
I think all our external enemies need to do is play billiards and poker, and wait for our internal enemies to complete the job.

I think she's faking on the death threats. Just like a Clinton-type -- lie, lie, lie.

How 'bout some evidence Ms. Gorelicker. Kinda like the following:

You're right. She probably found the arkcancide list on her desk.

This is just like Bubba trying to blame Rush on the McVeigh bombing. You cannot criticize these people without it being a hate crime.
However, notice that the Kill Rumsfeld ad came a couple of weeks after the premiere of Hot Air America.
To: arjay
I despise Gorelick as much as anybody, but there is absolutely NO excuse for making death threats to her.
And I have my doubts about the veracity of her statements. Show us some proof, an email a letter a tape of a phone threat. It's just too too convienient.

"Maybe this will be her excuse to drop off the committee"
She can't just drop off the committee by her own decision. If she does that, she loses her protected status, of not having to testify.
Hopefully, she'll be FORCED off the committee, then be FORCED to testify, though it's doubful that you'd get any more truth than was gottten from Clarke's 'testimony'.

Frankly, I don't believe for a moment that she received a telephoned threat.
She is the poster child for the corrupt administration she served and ought to be forced to testify before the commission rather than be part of the investigation.
