We fire bomber countless Japanese cities and their populations too...to break their will, just as we did the Germans. See my post 46. Its time we got past this PC war idea thing. That carries no weight with these types of enemies, anymore than it did with the Nazi, Tojo, N. Korean or Chinese mass attack animals. Unfortunately, they understand but one thing and it is time we give it to them and all who harbor or support them. In post 38 I give a possible scenario or plan for such enclaves as Fallujah.

In flipping through the channels the other night, I saw Col. Hunt on Mouthy O'Reilly. I stopped there because I really like Col. Hunt.

He said we are going to have to change our tactics in Iraq. IIRC he said that we are letting politics cause too many problems.

I think we are walking a tight rope and it is extremely easy to make the wrong decision. I wish I knew exactly what to do. More than that, I wish Rumsfeld and the military knew exactly what to do. I pray that they do.

It will only be like Vietnam when:

1. We are not allowed to pursue our enemies.
2. The politicians are more interested in their own political hides than in the lives of our young people.
3. And when the majority of the citizenry cow and do not rise to challenge the leftist, enemy abetting opposition and their un-American activities, includiong greeting the returning soldiers with derision.

We are not nearly there in any of those points as we were in Vietnam, with the exception of number 2 perhaps, particularly on the Demo side. We are straying that way for number one with Fallujah...we need to do the type of things outlined in post 38.

I have said it before and will do so again now...the solution to the type of atrocity and resistance that Fallujah and other places in Iraq have recently seen, as small a minority as they are of the whole of Iraqis, is direct and brutal for the combatants and those providing them sanctuary and support. To whit: Pull our troops back to the perimeter around Fallujah. Inform the inhabitants and fighters that negotiations are over and that they have 24 hours to evacuate any male under the age of 13 and over the age of 65 and woman and children. Inform them that the death or injury of any who are held against their will or who elect to remain will be on the heads of the militants and tell them this up front...no bones about it, no further negotiations. Process those electing to leave the city through checkpoints looking for any known resistors. Hold any of those who are armed or trying to escape for indefinite internment and intense interrogation. Offer the same 24 hour period to any male between 13 and 64 who wants to surrender and direct them to a different location. Those showing up there without weapons are subject to indefinite internment and intense interrogation. Armed resistors are killed on site. After 24 hours, use MOAB and ARLITE bombing to level the entire place. Then send in one hundred D-9 Cats to level out the rubble with enough dirt and top soil to effectively bury the dead. Salt the ground and soak it with swine fat and place a sign there in the middle of what is left that reads. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Here stood Fallujah and the barbarians who once took refuge within. the populations in most areas do NOT support them. see the other thread running now on the Najaf residents turning against Sadr. This is exactly what we need to promote. If we were instead bombing Najaf as many suggest here, that situation would be turned completely around.

I indicate that it is the case that the majority supports our efforts. I also have not indicated that we should do this to Najaf. I do believe we should do so in Fallujah after we give an appropriate opportunity for unconditional surrender of combatants and escape of those who so desire.

Doing so in Fallujah would probably be enough to cow the rest...but if not, then we do it again, and again, and again to other similar places that fit the same mold until they sue for abject peace.

Sorry, but it is way past time to treat the Islamic Jihadists and those who support them exactly like we did the Nazis and Japanese. I believe that nothing else will prove workable in the short or long term.
