Don't know 'bout that, Beav .... he was on the perky katie couric sham yesterday morning and I watched all of the body language.

PKC had her legs crossed (tightly, I thought) and when Mel was first introduced, so too were his legs ... but after the first opening remarks by PKC (gushingly sweet ... what a guy sorta' stuff) ... Mel uncrossed his legs, relaxingly opened them and slouched down in the chair just enough as if to say ...

Never mind ... I noticed all of that.

BTW ... PKC never loosened up, but continued with the drippy crap.

Mel stood? his ground.

"Thanks for having me" took on a whole new meaning.

BTW, does anyone know the politics of "Ice-T." My wife claims he's a Republican! I can't believe it, but she says that the people on "Law and Order" are always given license to be who they really are, so Belzer is the tinfoil hat guy, and in one episode, "Ice-T" supposedly says he's a Republican. Fred Thompson always does the conservative spiels, and Sam Watterson does the bleeding heart crap. Any info?

"Crossing Jordan" is another show with a strong cast, pretty good writing, and yet the network cannot give it a consistent time slot so it can hold an audience.

I don't remember who asked, but Ice-T (on the show) was asked when oral sex became not sex. His response "When Bill Clinton testified it wasn't" Granted, the writers wrote the line, but I've noticed some NBC shows seem be moving towards looking at both sides of the issues lately. Then, you have a show like "Joan of Arcadia" which revolves around God working actively in a teenages life.

Maybe flyover country is having an effect on mainstream TV.

As I say, the thing about "Law and Order" is, if you look at the characters, they seem to reflect the people in real life (i.e., Belzer as Munch, Thompson as the boss, Watterson as the snotty lib). So that makes me wonder about Ice-T.
