I really can't stand to listen to Blair speak when he's talking about socialism or ripping the Thatcher administration.

I think he's disgusting to listen to then.

I've never heard him speak of it. I would not like to hear someone of his talent use it for such either.

FWIW.

Many political commentators claim that the Blair government has gone further in its reform of the public sector that Thatcher could even have dreamt of.

Off course, there has been a general rightward shift all over Europe the last decade with deregulation of the public sectors.

Personally, I would like to see even the parliment privatised :-)

Cheers.

Well they've talked a lot and spent lots of money, hired lots of civil servants but has anything really been achieved ? Immigration is out of control, NHS sounds like it's still gasping, universities going broke and behind it all there's "stealth" Brown with his hands in every nook and cranny upping taxes :)

"Many political commentators claim that the Blair government"

This isn't really that convincing for me as we all know what liars political commentators can be.

However, I do believe that ultimately there will be a rightward move in Europe in spite of the best intentions of their elected leftist governments. (As well as the unelected EU officials.)

All Brit PM's HAVE to be quick on their feet as part of the job requirement. They have a grilling new conference every week -- it's called Prime Minister's Question Time.

It used to be on C-SPAN on Sunday evenings at 9:00 for about 1/2 hour. Haven't checked in a while to see if it's still on, but they are great to watch.

This US GRAND JURY INDICTMENT AGAINST USAMA BIN LADEN pretty much puts to rest the "no connection" between Osama and Saddam.

*snip*

The indictment noted that Al Qaeda, Bin Laden's international terrorist group, forged alliances with the National Islamic Front in Sudan and with the government of Iran and with its associated group Hezballah to "work together against their perceived common enemies in the West, particularly the United States."

Additionally, the indictment states that Al Qaeda reached an agreement with Iraq not to work against the regime of Saddam Hussein and that they would work cooperatively with Iraq, particularly in weapons development.

*snip*

Much more at the URL above.

Nice quote from Hilliary, Mo1.

President Bush's comments, both prepared and extemporaneous, were very good today.

He and Blair are a magnificent team in this War on Terror.

(One question for you..........do you have any purpose on this thread other than being a twit?)

it's amazing to me that supporters are reluctant to admit the prez is a horrible speaker....doesn't make him a bad person or a stupid person....he just cannot string 2 sentences together and there are times he seems a bit incoherent.

When did we become communists and can't poke fun of our "dear" leaders? This is not North Korea and our leaders do have feet of clay (or tongues of clay).

We'd rather poke fun at your
useless twittery, while humbly
thanking the good Lord for giving
us a leader who is better than a
a nation of useless twits deserve.

Are you well, Destro?? Feeling a little paranoia, are we? What do communism and North Korea have to do with the fact that you came on this thread, dealing with a press conference of great substance, and all you could do was say something stupid about how well the President speaks?

Your post is completely off the wall (albeit funny in its inanity)........but I expect more of people who call themselves conservatives.

As to the President's speaking ability, I have said previously that he is not a glib, silver tongued speaker (as everyone who has been listening to him knows), but he has given some of the most astounding, well delivered speeches I have heard in my 50 plus years, and when he speaks off the cuff, he may not be smooth, but he is honest, and clear.

If your bottom line is communication, then he is a master.

My point to you, Destro, is that your only reason for coming on to this thread was to belittle the President's speaking ability, and that.......at this point in time in our history, after what our President has led us through, and the strength of leadership he has shown........is nothing but tripe.

By the way, contessa..........he's not a 'horrible' speaker. He's just not a good extemporaneous speaker.

And in light of what he DOES, it's completely irrelevant...........unless, of course, you don't care about substance, and enjoy focusing on the trivial.

I don't thank him for campaign finance reform and for his amnesty and for his support on an assault riffle ban. And I hope he doesn't bankrupt us over his medicare spending.

txrangerette was talking about thanking the LORD for this President, not the President for any particular policy you don't agree with, Destro.

And that's exactly what you should be doing. Thanking the Lord for his mercy on this country when we didn't deserve it.

Hello???

Completely off track again.

Nothing I said had anything to do with patriarchs.

Try to improve your reading comprehension and remove the blinders so you stop embarrassing yourself with your posts.
