"Certainly in the Rice hearings and the [Richard] Clarke hearings, a lot of the members got partisan because they're in front of the cameras and there's a role for them to play," Lehman said, giving the panel a grade of a 'C' for keeping partisanship out of the picture.

Are they adults or applying for a new job!

An excerpt from the Gorelick memo reads:

"These procedures, which go beyond what is legally required, will prevent any risk of creating an unwarranted appearance that FISA is being used to avoid procedural safeguards which would apply in a criminal investigation."

The key here is "criminal investigation"".

Clinton created the "wall" and Gorelick strengthened it. The real reason was to impede any investigation into Clinton scandals and crimes (Chinagate, Koreagate, TWA 800, illegal campaign financing... remember the LaBella memo?)

check this out:

Clinton and Gorelick never imagined the problems it would impose with terrorism. It is coming back to bite them in a way their devious minds never imagined.

Now we need an aggressive journalist to investigate…and win a Pullitzer.

Note to Republicans:

For once in your political lives, get some backbone and cajones and FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT.

Apparently the memo was directed toward Mary Jo White. Was not her office investigating Hillary's relationship to various seedy characters of foreign extraction? I'm am wondering what other dots were not connected due to this "wall".

That's just it, Gorelick was the Clinton's "fixer", whose only purpose was to protect THEM, not us. Understanding that gets to the true extent of the damage that Clinton's corruption and negligence caused us all, IMHO.

I am beginning to believe that all 5 Republican members of the committee have been compromised, somehow, by whom, I do not know.

Not necessary. This is a case of the government investigating itself, with the results predetermined. I'm sure all the commissioners wine and dine together. All expenses paid by you and me of course.

Here is the resignation scenario:

-People start investigating how the Clinton/Gorelick "wall" hindered Clinton scandal investigations (Chinagate, campaign finance violations, TWA 800...)
-Clinton fears people will discover true intent of "wall"
-Clinton calls Gorelick, telling her to fall on her sword to get this out of public scrutiny before it is too late.
-Gorelick resigns "for the good of the commission"

Case closed, Clinton is safe again.

I have a suggestion, why don't we get Bill O'Reilly to run his own 9/11 commission, interviewing all the people that the 9/11 commission is refusing to allow to testify publicly. O'Reilly is such an egotist that he might just go for it.

Cool. The O'Really Factor bowdlerizes 9-11! Sounds like something that he would cream over.

Probable cause now exists to believe that absent the Gorelick Wall, the 9-11 homicides would not have been possible. Resign? No. Charge her with manslaughter...or, at least, criminal negligence...

Very important to find out who ordered this "wall" and WHY.

My suspicion is that it was put in place to keep hidden the Clintons' connection to a lot of dirty activity.

Gorelick "worked for" Janet Reno, who reported to who?
Ah, yes, slickster himself.
Rumor has it that Gorelick was the "real" AG.

Republican commissioner John Lehman (search), former Navy secretary under President Reagan, told Fox News on Thursday that he does not agree that Gorelick should resign. "Jamie Gorelick has made a very good contribution and she's one of the really savvy, nonpartisan of the bipartisan members," Lehman said.

IMO Lehman is covering his own flank here. If Gorelick resigns, the Dems are going to try and get a pubbie kicked off in retaliation, and Lehman would probably be their target.

Earth to Lehman...Earth to Lehman.

Reality check time.

An objective grade is 'F minus'.

Gorelick, Dick Ben Veniste, and Roehmer make this whole Bush Bash a travesty.
