Only the Moderates [Conservatives] want president Bush to be reelected accoring to an opinion poll by Svenska Dagbladet (SvD). All members of Parliament were asked the question who would you like to have elected as the president of the United States in November? A total of 75% of the MPs took part in the poll.
Result: Bush 10.2%, Kerry 80.3%, Dont know: 9.5%
Moderats (Conservatives): Bush 58.8%, Kerry 8.8%, Dont know: 32.4% (Total answers: 62%)
Christian Democrats: Bush 29.2%, Kerry 37.5%, Dont know: 33.3% (Total answers: 73%)

The Swedish MPs want a shift in power in the USA. Away with George Bush and in with the Democratic candidate John Kerry. A poll among the MPs shows that 80% of the MPs rather sees Kerry as president after the election in November. On the republican side there is only the Moderates and some Christian Democrats.
The Swedish opinion has been hard towards George W Bush, and this is reflected when the MPs give their answers to our poll. The questionnaire was sent to all 349 MPs: The answering frequency was 75%. 110 MPs refrained from answering. Among those are all Ministers and other members in leading Foreign Policy Committees. The result shows that the support for Kerry is solid - in all parties except the Conservatives and the Christian democrats it is 100%.
-"Bush has made a fool of himself. It is time for a change", says MP Anita Johansson (social democrat), who is a member of the Nordic Council and also a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. She gets support from the Liberal vice-chairman in the EU Committee, and also member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Carl B Hamilton. - Kerry would be a multilateral American president, who will stand for an international trade policy. We want the USA to actively participate in cooperation with other countries, and Kerry appears to be a more traditional Europe oriented candidate. He emphasis the importance of NATO, WTO, and UN.
Bush only recieves support from the Conservatives (where he gets approval of 20 out of 23 MPs) and Christian Democrats (7 out of 16 say they would have voted for Bush).
- "I feel close to the conservative values, with a focus on Christian values and family values that President Bush stands for", says Johnny Gylling, Christian Democrat.

Actaully, there are a number of reasons I posted this:
Maybe some of these comments can give some inspiration for FReeper posters. (100% of Swesdish Socialists want Kerry as President. Do you?)
Flip-flopping; a liberal disease: Mr Carl B Hamilton is a strong supporter for the invasion of Iraq. He even had a debate in the Swedish Parliament prior to the invasion, asking the PM to send Swedish troops. What now???
Just as President Reagan was villified in Swedish media during his 8 year tenure, so is George W Bush during his. SvD is the leading conservative newspaper. The headlines today were:
Sharons plan receives praise by Bush: USA changes policy and acknowledges Israels right to part of the West Bank.
The President gave unclear messages regarding Iraq
They are murdering women and children in Falluja (The "they" in this case is the US marines. The reporter allows an Iraqi man tell his readers that US soldiers are manning the minarets and shooting on civilans. "I can't guarantee the veracity of these stories, but....")
Shia leader opens for discussions with the US
In Dagens Nyheter, the other major daily news paper it is not much better (and DN also supported the invasion):
Albright critical of Bush
US lacks strategy in Iraq
Bush in offensive against growing criticism
Sigh...
PS: Note the fact about John Kerry that war veterans support him. Maybe the reporter needs a few words..
Guns Before Butter.
How will we ever survive?!! (/sarc.)
