Gorelick Caught In Lie - Gorelick Claims She Did Not Author or Sign the Memo That Bears Her Name and Initials.
When asked specifically by CNN's Wolf Blitzer if she wrote the "memorandum in '95 that helped establish the so-called walls between the FBI and CIA," Gorelick distanced herself from the matter:
"No, and again, I would refer you back to what others on the commission have said. The wall was a creature of statute. It's existed since the mid 1980s. And while it's too lengthy to go into, basically the policy that was put out in the mid-nineties, which I didn't sign, wasn't my policy by the way, it was the attorney general's policy, was ratified by Attorney General Ashcroft's deputy as well in August of 2001. So we are just going to move on from this. This is not a basis for resignation."

BREAKING: Gorelick (put on the Committee by Daschle) not only created the background for the 911 Atrocities but now is covering it up for the terrorists. Gorelick is a litigation partner of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering. which represents Prince Mohammed al-Faisal al-Saud, the house of Saud, against a lawsuit filed by a coalition of 600 Sept. 11 families. Why aren't the 9-11 hags in orbit about this?

Your initials next to your name on a paper is the same as your signature. It takes the place of the open space that was not left for the signature above the name. This is a real signature. The Washington Post Archives | October 9, 2000 | Vernon Loeb
"Tillie Fowler's (R - Fla.) bill creating a high-level White House coordinating council failed last week in the Senate after administration officials lobbied against it, leaving her locked in debate with the administration's counterterrorism chief over the nation's real ability to respond in the event of a terrorist attack.
Richard A. Clarke, who oversees $11 billion in counterterrorist programs as the National Security Council's coordinator of counterterrorism and computer security, agreed that efforts are fragmented. An interagency coordinating office within the FBI--the National Domestic Preparedness Office--he acknowledged, is "badly broken." But Clarke insists the country is far better prepared to respond to a terrorist attack than it was two years ago. And a new office for interagency coordination, he said, should not reside in the White House, as Fowler proposed.

And while it's too lengthy to go intoIn the days before Talk Radio and Foxnews she could have gotten away with this elitist partisanship, after all Watergate wasn't THAT big of a deal compared to the many *gates of Clinton, and this is supposed to go away.
There is blood in the water, thank God, and I think this is going to become a big story the Blitzers of the world won't be able to cover up by not asking the simple follow up to "And while it's too lengthy to go into" with "what does that mean? We have the pdf of the memo right here."

It depends on what the meaning of "sign" is.
(She initialed it.) I don't think you have any idea of how right on target you are with that comment.
As an un-educated outsider, I once needed a large federal agency to adopt a policy required by my then employer. I and an attorney for the organizaton I worked for drafted up a policy and paterned it after one within the federal agency. We then sent it in for circulation and approval within the agency. The process within the federal agency was to use a routing slip to all the major department heads. If approved, they were to signify their approval by initialling within the routing slip box.
Well over the years, certain "codes" became accepted such as if a Dept. head didn't like a policy, but wouldn't fight anyone trying to get it passed, they would initial "outside the box." There were other codes to indicate various forms of acceptance, support, ambivalence, or outright opposition.
To a rational human being initialing would be the same thing as signing. To a federal bureaucrat, initialing and where one initials could make a world of difference as to what was meant.

Why doesn't the mainstream press pick up this lie????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

also think Clinton is heavily involved in this latest tactic. It seems to me, to be an attempt at revisionist history- as to who holds most of the responsibilities for the intelligence failure's that led to 9/11. Hopefully the revelations in the Gorelick memo will thwart the attempt
Yeah, I was afraid of being accused of being a paranoid nut case but I am seeing the Clinton hand in this "Comission" Ben Veniste and Gorelick are clearly Clinton's stooges on the Panel

Gorelick's CYA:
"wasn't my policy by the way, it was the attorney general's policy" Blame it on Reno!!
LMAO! Reno was incompetent, unprepared, and ill-equipped to run the Justice Dept. She was Hillary's last desperate choice to be female Attorney General, and Gorelick was put there to take care of business for the Clintons and make sure Reno didn't mess up.

Kinda like Clinton lying under oath "does not rise to the level for impachement".
Put her on the hot seat and we'll see how long and lengthy the explanation is, and I'm sure us unwashed masses aren't too stupid to undertand.

Plus, as Rush said the other day, she's now part of that DC law firm that's representing the Saudi prince who gave money to the 9/11 terrorists. The appearance of conflict of interest is rather obvious. She's got a double whammy and should resign and crawl away to some dark corner. First, though, she should apologize to the country for putting us all in danger, costing lives, and then lying about it.

To: davidosborne
There was a talking head on Linda Vesters program this morning saying that even though Gorelick wrote the wall memo, it's not a conflict of interest since she didn't actually put the laws into place from the get go.
Yep, another classic Clintonian explination for conflict of interest.

This memo again formalized the wall within the FBI and made clear how investigations were to be carried out. Gorelcik did NOT initiate this policy. Look at page 2 of the memo. She very clearly states that her directive goes "beyond" what the law requires.

She won't resign. With Democrats, an illegal or unethical act is the stepping stone to bigger and better things. Maybe if she could murder someone, she'd be right up there with the big boys Clinton and Kennedy.
And we've got to asume that the word "KEAN" is on a tab label of one of the FBI files Hillary received.

Please do not misunderstand - I too feel that Gorelick needs to be removed from the Commission for this, and other reasons.
due thoughm to my experience in this area (Counter-Intelligence) I wanted to make it quite clear that the memo itself is not as unusual as many would believe. Being "overly careful" is not normally a fault, unless and until such carefulness results in the loss of lives (as it did here).
The argument that her sucessors retained the guidelines during the first eight months is disingenious in that, it took her and the previous administration several years to even set these guidlines.
