Someone suggested, on another thread, to protect/make more difficult the WJC-HRC investigations......It's certainly a thought.

Why were these roadblocks set up? Because leftists like Gorelick were afraid that the CIA might do a little internal spying - and perhaps find out just how closely all of these front groups for "peace" are tied to the Democratic Party and the international Communist movement. Heaven forbid that they might notify the FBI that certain Clinton Administration officials were involved in shady deals with foreign despots.
Plus a healthy dose of good old fashioned 60's-era radical paranoia, i.e., "the FBI and CIA are the biggest enemies Americans have".

to leave landmines for future presidents, aka conservatives... had gore been president, they would have controlled all data and ways to get it... this way, the world blows up on W, blame it on W just to get the White House back... looks like they missed something, eh?

Why were these roadblocks set up? Because socialist hacks whose number one goal is to exploit the poverty they create know nothing about national security.

Excellent question, Fitzcarraldo. The general theory is that it makes it difficult for domestic intelligence officers in the FBI to "spy" on Americans. Other than that, its hard to understand.

"Why were these roadblocks set up?" Gorelick knows the true reason for the "wall"...
Everthing Clinton did was to protect Clinton. I suggest that Clinton wanted to restrict info sharing between FBI and CIA in order to protect investigations into potential criminal cases regarding his actions and the actions of his close friends. The "gag order" was Clinton's way to limit investigation into his affairs...why else would agents be threatened with their careers?
Perhaps Freepers can connect the dots and recall what investigations into Clinton would have been advanced had the FBI and CIA shared info. (Chinagate for one?)
It was always about Clinton.
