A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (PHOTOS): 4.14.04
yahoo.com; whitehouse.gov ^ | April 14, 2004 | GretchenEE

Posted on 04/14/2004 2:14:09 PM PDT by GretchenEE

President Bush met with Israel's Prime Minister Sharon (Yahoo quotes) to give "qualified U.S. backing to the Israeli leader's high-stakes proposal to withdraw from Gaza but retain part of the West Bank." Bush "said that Israel has a claim on some West Bank land that Palestinians say is theirs, in a shift in policy that possibly has major implications for Middle East peace negotiations." Text of President Bush's remarks at joint press conference

He spoke with Mexico's President Fox via phone concerning Cuba, and the "International Court of Justice" finding that the US violated the rights of 50-plus Mexicans on death row in America.

About FR's frontpage, I saw this posted on a thread about it yesterday.

To: El Conservador

I thought it would be better to present our front page news topic on our opening page rather than the FR home page info that was there before.

The old home page is still available. You can get to it by clicking on the "Free Republic" link at the top left of any of the "Latest" pages.

Also, those who would rather use the old home page as the opening page for FR can use this bookmark:

http://www.freerepublic.com/home.htm

Thanks,

Jim

I know that Psalm is quite long but I couldn't resist posting all of it. David expresses so well some of what I feel towards those who bash, berate, and belittle President Bush.

When I see things like the story of his keeping a promise to a wounded soldier and inviting him to the White House to jog ... and then hear the vile lies and accusations by the libs ... and see shameful performances like those by the media at the press conference last night ... I get so frustrated and furious that I become speechless with rage.

God bless our President and all those who serve our nation in the military!

And God bless America! Please don't let the libs destroy our beloved country!

Yes, as in the beer company...each one is numbered....Mike should turn them over to see the other side......a few weeks ago when Geraldo was in Iraq, the CO of the 4th 1D gave Geraldo one.

Thank you! I found another thread, guess I'm not the only one who was afraid to ask for a couple of days. I now have the home page bookmarked. I like knowing where I'm going, ya know?

Understand your outrage. From the president's last inaugural address:

``We know the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. Do you not think an angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm?''... This work continues. This story goes on. And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm."

Can't wait to hear his NEXT inaugural speech! :-)

I re-read that speech recently. It's almost eerie to read it now in light of what has happened since that day. There's no doubt at all in my mind Who is in charge. I'd go nuts without that assurance in this crazy, mixed-up world we're living in right now.

Eric brought us BUNCHES of stuff back from Iraq. He blew us away with his gift giving ceremony.

Included were an Olympic Iraqi soccer team warm up suit for his soccer playing sister, and an ivory chess set for his chess playing brother, beautiful paintings, coins, etc.........

We were stunned!
