Do we also have a physical address for letters / postcards to the commission? We're receiving the computer generated, "thanks for contacting us, but we cannot reply" email replies.

Let's also leave a paper trail.

I'm not as polite in today's letter to Kean, that many on this thread are. Here it is:

Dear Mr. Kean,

After the revelations brought forth to the committee by Attorney General Ashcroft yesterday, highlighting Jamie Gorelicks involvement in strengthening the mandates of "The Wall" between the CIA and FBI, it is my belief that at minimum, she has a conflict of interest in serving on the 9-11 Commission that can no longer be ignored.

Ms. Gorelick should put the country first and step down from the commission. If she refuses to do this, the commission should ask her to resign. This is NOT about face-saving and reputations. This is about national security.

It seems Ms. Gorelick is directly involved with tying the hands of the government agencies to the extent that they were doomed to fail. That she didn't reveal this to the commission indicates her desire to hide this fact. I believe she should be summoned as a witness and questioned by the commission.

I'll send one to her now.....

Dear Ms. Gorelick,

Please do the right thing and step down from the 9/11 Commission.

If Ms. Gorelick were interested in doing the right thing, she wouldn't have worked for Clinton in the first place, and she certainly would never have asked to be on this 9/11 Commission.

No, Ms. Gorelick is on this commission because she, and everyone else connected with the Clinton gang, knew that the best way to avoid having to answer uncomfortable questions was to be the one asking the questions.

Thanks for the link. I just wrote to her and asked her to do what she would ask any republican to do in the same spot. And..this time..do what is good for the country..we all have to sacrifice in times of war.

On C-Span reporters are asking 9/11 Commission chairs whether Gorelick should step down or resign due to her Wall memo.

Kean says no and that's it's a ridiculous question. She is in his mind one of the hardest, most fine and less partisan members of the commission.

I just sent an email to the commission. I happen to live in the county where Zacharias Mussauoui was being held on September 11, 2001! The coverage of the frustration of the Minneapolis FBI office has been intence in Minnesota. I am just so ticked off at the commission which is really just muddying the waters instead of trying to prevent further attacks.

Jamie Gorelick should have the integrity to resign, but then as a member of the Clinton Administration, the idea that integrity would be present in anyone of that group is an oxymoron.

ALL: (I hope it's permissible to post to two threads)
Here are some material questions for Gorelick you may want to include in your letter/fax/email/phone calls:

1) Who authorized you to prepare and write this memorandum and why?

2) If you indeed initiated and authored this memorandum, why did you do it?

3) With whom did you vet this memorandum?

4) In light of continuing terrorist attacks against our interests, including the USS Cole, why did you not rescind your memo?

Commissioner Keane - we're making it our business! (in case anyone missed it during a press conference when queried about Gorelick stepping down, not only did Keane defend her he said we should stay out of the commission's business!)

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner called on Jamie Gorelick to resign from the Sept. 11 commission Wednesday, citing a memo she wrote as a deputy attorney general on separating counterintelligence from criminal investigations. "Scrutiny of this policy lies at the heart of the commission's work," said Sensenbrenner, R-Wis. "Ms. Gorelick has an inherent conflict of interest as the author of this memo and as a government official at the center of the events in questions."

TOM KEAN SAYS TO US!

PEOPLE SHOULD STAY OUT OUR BUSINESS!

Meaning us US citizens!

I am sending an email that will simply state the following:

Dear Ms. Gorelick,

Please resign your position on the 9/11 commission immediately. As the author of the memo, and a government employee, you have no business being on this commission.
The hearings before this commission have already been tainted with partisanship. Please do not taint them further and ultimately casting a dark shadow of doubt as to the real purpose of the commission and its hearings by remaining in your post on the commission as the author of the memo, a key piece of evidence.

Sincerely,

I will insert my name and address here
