Specter is a freaking liar. And for pete's sake, if he'd lie about something like this....SHEESH. The guy's listed as a member on the bloody website. And Specter sure snowed Limbaugh. Trust but verify, Limbaugh.

Is this funny or sad?
I quoted Spector correctly above, he said he had "no connection with Main Street Partnership" on Rush's show.

If Specter wins re-election and Republicans maintain the majority in the Senate, he is expected to take the seat currently held by Sen. Orrin Hatch, whose term as chairman expires at the end of 2004. Oh, Great! From Terrible to Horrible.

Thanks. We ALL need to email Rush and Drudge on this, because we cannot have Specter running the Judiciary committee. That is unacceptable.

Rush just said it on the air! If that is not enough to remove Conservative support from Spector, I dont know what is. During Rush's program a half hour ago, Spector ran an ad with a voice recording of Santorum and Bush both backing Spector, the baby-murdering, tax-increasing, traitor running against a real conservative and Republican: Pat Toomey.
This is the same garbage Bush pulled in the gubernatorial race in New Jersey a couple years ago, refusing to support the conservative Republican in the primary, and when he proved victorious, refusing to back him against the pro-abortion Democrat, McGreevey who was subsequently elected and actually passed a bill in New Jersey approving human cloning!
For Santorum who cloaks himself as pro-life and "catholic" e.g. appearing on EWTN TV, it is a complete disgrace. He is no more Catholic than Kerry is.
What's next - is he going to bend-over forthe homosexuals??!
Bottom line: we have gotten absolutely nothing from these "republicans" - they are all vermin. Stay at home and let them - and the nation rot - cause it ain't gonna' be settled by them.
To: Keith
I hope he gets re-elected. If he does, he is the new head of the Judiciary committee...and he will know he owes his victory to Bush BIG TIME... Won't that be wonderful - Specter in charge of the Judiciary Committee. By the way, can you remind me what Justice Bork's latest ruling was?
Oops...

The Bush portion of the voice ad backing Spector was especially reprehensible, praising Spector as an
"independent voice in the Senate".
And lest anyone ever forget, it was Rush who got us Bush, instead of a more conservative Republican in the 2000 Presidential primary.
To: mewzilla
I see plausible deniability. There are two "Main Street" organizations. One is a coalition of legislators. Specter is on that. Then there is a private political action group, that Soros donated to. Specter is not a member of that, and has not received donations from them. However, the private Main Street group is spending $200,000 to support Specter, whether he wants the support or not!
