more like picking up a hot horse apple.

Ben Veniste is dissing the FBI now. MI5 analysts don't look like typical FBI. They are THINKERS first and foremost.
It was my understanding that to be an FBI agent that you needed to be either a lawyer or an accountant.
To: Miss Marple
Thinkers and feelers? Isn't this how we got HERE in the first place?

I dunno. I got tired of reading about the lesbo niece. I moved on, too.
To: petitfour
Don't forget that the niece was also busy fighting anti-feminists in Quantico at the same time ;-) Haven't read a Cornwell book since she came out of the closet.

Haha. I'm sure Soros isn't done yet and we'll have more opportunity to be amused by this scoundrel.

I didn't even know she had come out of the closet until recently. I learned it here on FR, of course.

Does Congress have oversight over the FBI?
To: Howlin
I just wanted to clarify which report
the other Kristen had, and which report our Kristinn delivered this morning.
I guess we'll all just have to wait and see, when the FAA part of the 9/11 Commission's "investigation" occurs, whether or not the 1996 Gore Airline Commission gets any attention.
Thanks.

That is unfortunate.

To: Miss Marple
Don't think that's the case anymore.

These families are getting on my last nerve.
Ashcroft clearly stated yesterday that for security purposes, it was determined the Attorney General should travel on business by government owned planes.
When he travels personally he travels commercially to this day.
But when on business, between the guns his security staff carry and other reasons he mentioned, it was determined that goverment planes were the way to go.

Kean asked Muller for the families why Ashcroft leased a private plane!I heard that, too. I was away from the computer or would have noted it myself.
Mueller said he'd have to look into it.
Good grief. They must have lodged a claim that they don't accept Ashcroft's word for it.
I have to go now---will look forward to reading notes when I get back.

Well, since Ben Veniste is so enamoured of MI5, I wonder how he squares it with the "Iraq trying to procure uranium in Africa" faux pas. I mean, either that information on Iraq in Africa was credible or it wasn't.
Based on this commission, I must assume that it WAS credible.
To: Miss Marple
Is MI5 the British group? I don't know if it's M5 or M15...but it is the British intelligence group; a combination of the FBI and CIA.
