It has gotten to the point that I can't stand to hear ANY liberal...I have not heard one that is putting country over politics and it's sick!! Wish we could ship them all to castro's island.

I always object to the characterization of Plame's name being leaked. I just don't think anybody deliberately leaked it to cause a ruckus. Not even Clarke. Even if he gave it out, it was to make Wilson look like he had a good reason for being picked.
The fact that the Wilsons then spun it that her name was "leaked" is just that--spin.

Kristinn deserved the Congressional Medal of Honor, the Presidential Award, and any other accolade availabe that honors those who defend America. I'll second that! :-)

She's the one who said "one of them," presumably her, was going to run and the first thing they would do would be to DECLASSIFY ALL intelligence concerning 9-11 and the CIA and FBI.

Tenet spoke with the president on almost a daily basis through spring and summer but not the August period when President on vacation. Tenet said if he'd "had his hair on fire" he would have placed a call. This is the next lame attack on the President, being out of Washington in August. Mark Ginsberg on Fox just now saying that "maybe this will be the big lesson of 9-11, that we have somebody on duty in Washington in August".
Baloney! The President is fully reachable and is only a phone call, pager, email, fax away. This is the case in Crawford, Camp David, AF One or practically wherever he is. Poor guy probably can't go to the bathroom in real peace.

Re Clarke as leaker:
In the Jan 2002 New Yorker article about John O'Neill, Dick Clarke was referred to as a spider: no matter where information went in DC, somehow Clarke was involved.

Just heard former Ambassador Marc Ginsberg on Fox News lamenting how despicable it was that "everyone in Washington DC was out of town the month of August 2001" during that summer of so many warnings. He says this goes on every August, and how that practice has to stop. *sigh*

Fox has interrupted the hearings for Iraq coverage. Therefore I got to hear Kristol at his most possumlike, inferring that Rumsfeld has told comanders no more troops and that Bush doesn't have a strategy for winning Iraq.
To: petitfour
Clarke was chummy with every reporter in D.C.
I've said before I think he may well have given her name, but not "leaked" it.
I think he and others gave it to justify Wilson being sent. Certainly not to harm her, as the Wilsons are spinning her role in Wilson's trip being revealed.

It was 67 not 70 FBI investigations.
(pardon me while I roll my eyes.)

I just called my 2 Texas senators office and told them I'd like to see the republicans push to have Jamie Gorelick removed from the 911 commission and testify herself about her involvement in Clinton policy to further hinder intelligence gathering!
To: BlessedByLiberty
I'm beginning to think that Clarke was the WH leaker and when he was 'demoted' most leaks stoppedI also believe he was the leaker. If he was, the press is reprehensible in their reporting of this story, knowing that it came from a bitter, discredited source.
