Terrorists may try using stowaways and shoulder-launched missiles to bring down airplanes, a senior Singapore official warned today."Given the iconic status enjoyed by airports and airlines, it is paramount that all players in the global aviation industry continue to remain vigilant," the city-state's second minister for transport Balaji Sadasivan told an aviation security conference.
Besides stowaways carrying explosives or weapons, or shoulder-fired missiles, Mr Sadasivan said terrorists could send a bomb by cargo.
He called for increased co-operation between aviation authorities to combat such threats.
Singapore, a staunch US ally, has placed air marshals on national carrier Singapore Airlines and sister company SilkAir and said it was developing a missile defence shield to prevent possible attacks from the sky.
In 2001, Singapore authorities said they broke up a plot by Islamic militants to fly a plane into the city-state's Changi Airport and blow up the US Embassy there.
"We cannot afford to take any chances with our aviation sector, which accounts for as much as 9.2 per cent of Singapore's gross domestic product($126.41 billion).,"
In Richard Clarke's book he talks about how he used the Flight 800 disaster to increase concern about terrorism to get more money for counterterrorism. This probably led to people outside of government forming the conspiracy theory.
It's over. The Oklahoma City bombing might have an Islamic connection, though.

We further argue that had the truth been told on July 17, 1996, there might not have been a Sept. 11, 2001. Since the publication of the book, we have received additional evidence... |

They certainly don't sit in the cockpits of America's airliners. After some 200 radio and TV interviews and a score of live appearances, I have talked to at least 100 airline pilots. Of those, exactly one supported the government thesis. What follows are some of the unsolicited e-mails I have... |

And then read First Strike : TWA Flight 800 and the Attack on America by Jack Cashill (Author), James Sanders (Author) for the full story.
The evidence against the NTSB findings you cite is overwhelming. Flight TWA 800 was another terrorist event, suppressed by Clinton.
