Wow! I think CC just saw the light!

Well, the 'stupid questions' and the lack of a slick willy to answer them is a constrast for me. I'm 30, and I'm used to seeing the press lie down for the president, except for Bush 1.
This reminds me of 92.
To: Howlin
Hey, even Ceci Connelly is saying it. She said he ought to do more of these, because he is genuine and not canned. Knock me over with a feather!

Lousy answer on the mistake question. That look of pondering is going to be THE PHOTO on the front page tomorrow, and it's not flattering. This is not going well...You could hear the shutters clicking at the time; yes that will be the photo that is shown.
And, by the way, I think he did a bang up job, with this exception. (Ceci on Fox just said he should do more of these because he did so well, so strong in his responses -- her words!!)

We need to have a press bashing party someday. The guest list would be huge. You're invited. Come one, come all to the D.C. Chapter's Sixth Annual Freep of the White House Correspondents Association (thread with preliminary announcement). Quoting from that:
Saturday, May 1, 4 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m. The D.C. Chapter's Sixth Annual Freep of the White House Correspondents Association Dinner. Location: Outside the Washington Hilton, Connecticut Avenue and T Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
Our most fun protest every year. This is your chance to tell the mainstream media to their faces what you think about their biased reporting. You'll also be able to meet and thank those reporters who do their job like it should be done.

Dubya is at his best when he is just talking like a regular guy. The press corps was the worst, worse than I have ever seen them, but he has to parry their shallow attacks better.

Many people are looking for realness, not phony. He will come across more sincere if he does not give "made for t.v." appearances.

Wow. I'm stunned at Cee Cee Connolly's complimentary words about the president. When he's talking about good and evil, he comes across as such a strong leader. (That's a paraphrase.)

The facts on Iraq and the intelligence failures are now out there for anyone who is ineterested. Anyone coming to the conclusions that the Dims are pushing are not being objective. That's all you can do. You can lead a horse to water, but...
These Bush haters are simply very hateful people beyond the capability of thinking logically and objectively by their own devices and attitudes. Kind of like the kid who gets his a$$ kicked in a fight b/c he's all PO'd and is letting his anger control him. Same exact thing!
To: Carolinamom
Terry Moran saying Prez projected strength... & compassion to those who've lost loved ones....Prez seemed more confident & animated than he has lately...

>>Excellent speech, average to poor delivery. Please, please, please, Karen Hughes, start having the President practice his delivery in front of a camera, and play it back to him. Although most of the speech was delivered well, there were times when it was choppy, and worse a few moments where he sounded hesitant and lacking spirit, which came across as weak, in a Carter way. Some of the body language was not as resolute as the text. <<
I think it's like making an Afgan. If there are not mistakes it is too perfect. He seems genuine to me.

This last guy is a piece of work.
"Lost a lot of public support in lst few weeks.
You can't communicate.
Have you failed to make the case.
Your points are repetitive.
What an utter jerk."
Not one of the questions had a basis in seeking "news", rather an attempt to see if they could make news by destroying his credibility, in a mocking manner.
To: CedarDave
I loved it when he said that he doesn't make decisions based on polls (hey, Clinton, didja hear that???). And said he couldn't live with himself if he did.

The people in our national media who call themselves journalists are disgrace. How many of those bozos asked "why won't you admit you failed?" "will you apologize"

The press is very fortunate in that Prsident Bush is a humble man. He is confident, strong and determined but he is not arrogant or thin skinned.
OMG, CeCe Connelly just complimented his performance to Brit. They must be ice skating in Hell.
