Hazem al-Araj
This give me an idea for a comic strip about two loveable, wacky, Iraqi magpies named Hazem and Hatem.

Checking various web news sources, I have yet to see anything. Top-of-the-hour radio news says he is still "hold up" in Iraq.

I checked the link. The report is 8 hours old. Seems odd no other reports since then.Unless it was a Russian unit that captured said Islamofascist, I attempt to disbelieve.
I rolled a 20. I successfully disbelieved.

If this is the guy taht has been causing all the problems (I never can tell), then this is good.
Why were his forces negotiating recently? Or even allowed to negotiate with the authorities?

Sadly, we must be prepared for another radical to step up and take his place. This is the nature of the war on terror. The trick is not to become disniterested in important victories like this (if it's true). It's terrorist whack-a-mole.

Hopefully this is true.
Just speculation, but I was expecting something like this since the word came out about the President's press conference tonight. The WH knew it had happened or would happen by tonite, and wants to announce the good news.

Early this am, NPR said it was Sadr's deputy who was arrested. His bodyguards were going to fight, but saw the US soldiers and gave up. I wish they'd stop using law and order terminology. This is war, not cops and robbers. Just because Clintonites use 'arrest' all the time, that doesn't mean the Bush admin. has to follow suit.
