The owners/publisher/editors of the California freebe fish wraps are such losers, they can't get a job lying for the LA Slimes, Sac Bee, San Francisco Gayrhonicle or San Jose Jerkury.

So they create these outrageous alternative newspapers and push the rat extremist view in every issue.
