Orthodox Jews To Demonstrate Against 'State' Of Israel

Upon the meeting of President George W. Bush and "Israeli" Prime Minister Sharon on April 14, at the White House, Washington DC, Orthodox Jews will be demonstrating in front of the White House, to proclaim and clearly state that: Sharon and the State of "Israel" are illegitimate and they do not represent the Jewish people.

The State of "Israel" does not represent the voice of Judaism and/or the Jewish people. The Torah clearly forbids the formation of a State, for the Jewish people, in their time of exile.

The root cause of the endless bloodshed and suffering in the Holy Land is Zionism and the State of "Israel".

The root cause for the continual rise of worldwide anti-Semitism is Zionism and the State of "Israel".

The Jewish people have been living in Muslim countries, including Palestine, in peace and harmony with their Arab neighbors, until the advent of Zionism.

True to the above and for many other reasons, the rabbinic authorities universally, have vehemently opposed the State of "Israel" since the time of its inception.

Consequently, Sharon has no legitimacy to be the representative of the Jewish people.

The only working solution to a true and lasting peace is the total dismantling of this illegitimate State of "Israel" - a transformation to a Palestinian rule. Any other of the countless proposals for peace, whereby the State of "Israel" would continue to exist, is futile. As the Torah states "why are you violating the words of G-d, it will not be successful" (Numbers, 14: 41).

Our fervent prayer to G-d is, for this transition from the State of "Israel" to a Palestinian State, to transpire, speedily and peacefully, without any further suffering and bloodshed. Under this new Palestinian rule, we will once again, G-d willing, be able live side by side, Jew and Arab, in brotherhood.

Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 B.C.E. the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 C.E. lasted no more than 22 years.

For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship.

Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

Of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

The U.N was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

The U.N. was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

The Arab men use their own women and children as bullet shields in their "holy" wars. They mutilate 8-year old girls by performing radical clitorodectomies and worse, labia-ectomies. Yes! This horrible "custom" of mutilation is still practiced today by many Arabs.

One of the few decent Arabs was Prince Abdullah who in 1925 said, "We Arabs, especially the educated among us bid the Jews a hearty welcome home. This is their home. They have no other." His was assassinated - probably by members of the Mufti who also promised their fellow Arabs to purge Israel of the Jews in 1948.

The world doesn't bother to ask itself why we should trust the Arabs to make peace with Israel if Israel gives up the so-called "occupied territories" if the Arabs made war with Israel twice before '67 and Israel was that little piece of land the Arabs want it to be again.

Such statements display not just a devastating ignorance about the reality of the situation but also are enormously insulting to the memory of the 1.5 million Jews who fought against the German and Austrian forces and their many allies during World War II. Let's deal with some facts:

1) Jews are not the only nation which has been subjected to genocide. Are you suggesting that Tutsis, Ukrainians, and Armenians to name just a few groups were also cowardly? Until you yourself have faced up to a killing machine intent on the extermination of you and your entire family, you really are in no position to judge anyone else in those circumstances.

2) For a Jew to have fought back was almost impossible for a large number of reasons including:

A) The fact that all Jews were marked for death. When a man or woman went to fight they knew they were abandoning their children to a totally uncertain fate at best and a lonely death at worst. Would you leave your wife and children in such circumstances, knowing that they would be murdered alone?

B) The consequences for other Jews, of a Jew killing a German or a German ally were always horrifying. The killing of one German soldier at the hand of a Jew could mean instant death for hundreds of Jewish civilians. Would you kill an enemy knowing that it would result in the instant mass-execution of your entire village?

C) The Jews in virtually all places were without any real power whatsoever. Not only did they have to face the killing machine of the Germans and Austrians, but also, in very many cases, the hatred of their neigbors, the incitement of the churches, and the collaboration of their own governments in their destruction. Betrayed at every twist and turn by neighbors and other partisan groups, rounded up by local police forces on the orders of their own government they were utterly friendless in a vast sea of hatred.

As the deputy-commander of the Warsaw uprising, Marek Edelman, has pointed out, how incredible that the few Jewish survivors of the first significant civilian uprising on the European continent against the power of the Nazis were far more likely to be killed by local Polish partisan groups than the Germans or their allies.

D) What kind of response do you expect from unarmed civilians when mighty military nations like Poland rolled over in nothing flat on their backs like innocent puppies as the German war machine moved on inexorably through Europe and beyone?

E) In very many cases Jews did not know their ultimate fate. The lies of the Nazis were very effective in keeping the truth from the victims. Even up to the gates of the gas chambers lies of the "arbeit macht frei" variety were prevalent.

3) In the light of the above, the fact that many Jews did fight back in large numbers, and with incredible courage, in the forests of Europe is really incredible. That, as I have mentioned earlier, 1.5 million Jews fought in the armies of the allies, covering themselves in glory (particularly in Eastern Europe) is breathtaking given how the vast majority of Jews of Europe were in the process of being liquidated. But then they had always fought bravely when given the opportunity, and that is no better demonstrated than by reference to World War I when they had fought in their many hundreds of thousands on all sides; and, most ironically, winning more medals as German soldiers per head than any other single group.

And how do you imagine Israel was created? Have you any idea at all about the staggering losses we Jews sustained in 1948? How do you imagine we have survived since?

Rather than attack Jewish courage, far better you should ask yourself about the "courage" of millions of your co-religionists who collaborated with the Nazis to murder six million Jews and steal all their property. How much courage do you imagine it takes to murder 1.5 million Jewish children? How much courage did it take for Lithuanian partisans to murder 90% of Lithuanian Jewry (200,000) without any assistance from the Nazis? How much courage did it take for the Lithuanian church to threaten to excommunicate every Catholic who did not join the massacres?
How much courage did it take for a Polish peasant to betray his Jewish neighbor to the Nazis, sometimes for a second-hand suit, and often for nothing? How much courage did it take for the Allies to prevent the emigration of Jews fleeing the Holocaust? How much courage did it take for the Allies not to speak out about the Holocaust? How much courage did it take not to send even one bomber to destroy the railroad tracks leading to Auschwitz?

Yes, how much courage does it take to either stand aside or openly collaborate as your neighbors - neighbors who have contributed so very much to your society - are being murdered in cold blood?
