Roemer got her to admit she hadn't briefed Ashcroft on AQ as well.
Although, I think when she answered Roemer she said "I don't remember" which of course means no.

Speaking of Bob Kerry, check out
this link from March 2003. From the link:
And then we pass the Homeland Security Bill, the US Patriot Act. I mean, Jeez, anything that has that name on it, you ought to vote against it. Because they're setting it up, how could you vote against the US Patriot Act? Aren't you patriotic? And anything that's pretending to be for homeland security-- I mean, there's vendors from Washington DC all the way around the Beltway, waiting to get in to see Tom Ridge and spend some of your and my money. And I think we've completely overestimated the threat of terrorism to us, and as a consequence, we're afraid to do the things that we ought to be doing. That's my own view. And it doesn't mean we aren't getting some good things done, and so forth.

Hey give Reno a break! Don't you forget how the full force of the United States government and military succeeded in getting a 6 year old terrorist from Cuba out of the country?????

Reno is turning out to NOT be the best witness for the Dems or for the Clinton administration. She's contradicting alot of the previous Dem spin.

Question: Did you advise White House about concerns with Director or Bureau?
Reno - "I had good working relationship with dDrector,... it was common knowledge we didn't always know what information we had,... problems with respect to automation,... I never briefed the President on it."

If Reno had gone after terrorists half as hard as she went after Bill Gates, 9-11 would have been just another day in September.
To: Gritty
Reno - "It is facscinating how the team worked together, exchanging information, trusting each other,... people talked about data like water coming out of a fire hydrant,... it opened the doors,... it was based on trust,... the principals were sharing,... cut through the red tape and 'move it',... we do the best we can... (becoming incoherent)..."Janet Reno should be an human resource administrative assistant for a Fortune 500 company where she would be in charge of planning birthday parties.

"Of course it is. They give this fool a pass and will attack a Bush admin member who's very recently been seriously ill requiring surgical intervention and intensive care.
But it'll make those 9-11 families happy, so that makes it OK."
I'd rephrase this to say: "But it'll make those four professional 9/11-anybody-but-Bush-we've-all-read-our-talking-points victims happy, so that makes it OK."

Thank you for your email to the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. Due to the volume of correspondence from right-wing nuts and Bushbots, we automatically reply that it is not possible to respond to each piece individually and personally. Please be assured that your gripe/bitch/whine will be forwarded to the appropriate junior staff member so that yet another scratch mark will be made upon a yellow legal pad. We appreciate your taking the time to share information with the Commission as well as your desire to strangle three of its members, and encourage you to continue to follow its work.
