The "Walls" memo was written in 1995 by Gorelick, who now has a clear ACTUAL conflict of interest and should be removed from the commission. This is NOT just an "appearance" of a conflict.

Ashcroft: Time after time individual investigators were advised by superiors they were restrained by the wall. Culture of the law enforcement was that to breach the wall was a "career-ender"

Just got back to the computer and hope your question was answered in one of the subsequent posts as I really don't know the answer and was wondering the same myself. I am watching John Ashcroft's testimony and looks like he is on top of things. Hope to catch up on what I have missed both on TV and FR.

Ashcroft points out that the budget they were operating under on 9-11 was a Clinturd budget. Says Bush's subsequent 2002 budget had the largest counterterrorism in crease in history.

One thing I hate about her is (like today and after Waco) she says she 'takes responsibility,' but then does nothing to show it, never suffers any consequences, etc.
I think anyone, not knowing which party Ashcroft or Reno came from would objectively have to choose Ashcroft as an AG, senator, etc.
