Kean must have received a ton of e-mails on the clapping. I am glad he said that, although I do wish he would tell them they would be removed if they clapped.

Thanks.

The very first thing that was said, "NO CLAPPING"!

amen to that .. any other hearing on Capitol Hill is opened with that request ... you applaud or make derogatory sounds, and a Capitol Hill policeman advises you to stop ... or escorts you out of the room .. no questions asked. They should never have allowed those family members to carry on like they did for Clarke and Rice. It was disgraceful.

Reno up after Freeh, then Ashcroft.
We had a 42 year old woman who was born in Cuba in our home last night. Her father risked their lives getting them out of the country 36 years ago. Her stories were hair-raising and she loathes Reno with a passion.

It's about time he said something, but after how many hearings? He's allowed these hearings to turn into circuses and undermined the seriousness of the commission's purpose.

You notice Kean only stopped this AFTER people clapped for Sec. Rice?
The clappers should have been ejected the first day. Heck, the whole thing has degenerated into a soviet style show trial and not an honest inquiry that everyone deserves. You'd almost, not quite, but almost think that they do not want to get to the heart of the matter.

Thanks for this thread. I've been waiting to hear this one! A liberal member of my family, who only heard the commissioners on radio, commented to me yesterday about the terrible lib attacks...especially those by Kerrey and Ben-Veniste... on Condi. There's hope then that their overthetop behavior will backfire.
To: kristinn; redlipstick
Definitely should have said something earlier regarding the hearings and removed any disruptors.
Since most of the 9/11 families live in the northeast, we can imagine the biased news sources they are getting.

Condi was subjected to a "high tech lynching" just like Clarence Thomas. How I wish the minority leftists would wake up to the fact that they are not well served by the Rats.

At least 2 of the 9/11 widows are shaping the bias of the coverage.

It was disgraceful.I agree. It's not some damn sporting event. Some people have no respect for where they are. If the want to clap, go watch Oprah or American Idol, don't sit in on a commission hearing where the security of our nation is being discussed.
