We must really be decimating the terrorists if this is happening.

Didn't have time to read the whole thing, but it makes me curious about those Iranian "tourists" killed in the crossfire the other day. Were they carrying cameras or Kalashnikovs?

Right, but we can't play the "Duello" and deny quarter -- we don't really want to look like Santa Ana.

The only surrender I would accept is that every man walk out and surrender personally.

Iran is patient...Sad'r is simply a chess piece on the board,

Sad'r will realize this..if not allready.

Maybe the Shia of the south are not ready yet in geostrategic depth to dominate Iraq.
Iran may actually desire the CFR mandate of Leslie Gelb which see's Iraq segmented into 3 peices.

Iran would like the U.S. military out..
If a false social ident of peace and cohesion can get this for them..they will engineer a quiet Iraq.

Later..they can undo the Iraqi council..the police and the Army.

In the period of deception...more modern weapons will migrate into Iraq.

Should the U.S. contest Irans play,
they will be content to see America bloody itself on Islam's sword.
Years and months matter little..
Iran has the west's oil dependence as trump card.
If they are threatened..they will enable terror orgs to undermine oil transfer,
From CNN to stock market confidence,
they have many game peices to play.

The first rule in guerrilla war is not to stand and fight for fixed positions and instead use hit and ru. If the militia is allowed to melt away, this is precisely what will happen.

Well gee James T., you have been on every side of the fence, not going into Iraq and then the miltary goes in and you criticize and now criticizing everything going on.

You have the Crown now Kirk, now tell everybody what would you do.

You ain't in armchair comfort anymore.

The Iranian people want freedom as much as anyone. How long can the Mullahs coerce a population into fighting for them? Paying off fellow crooks and thugs to do dirty work isn't a lasting solution. May they share the same grave.

American military is great, because it is good...and that is not something our enemies can learn through stealth or imitation.

Thanks for the ping, Ernest.

I'm waiting for the still, small (non-mainstream) voice. *g*

8 Negotiations Continue As Marines Take Fire Around Fallujah ~ French-like (enemy-appeasing) headline. More accurate bottom line of CPA-CJTF-7 briefing: "The fact is that the Marines are ready, on order, to continue the operations to complete the destruction of enemy forces in Fallujah"..The Marines are "more than capable, they are more than equipped, they are more than armed" to do the job. - Gen. Kimmitt. Bad guys, believe the press, or believe the Marines.  You lose either way.  ~ DoD-AFPS | 4/12/04 | Gerry J. Gilmore

I believe the 8th Crusade ended in 1191.

What ended the fighting was geostrategic concession.
Lands transfered..or conceeded.
rights to business transaction...ie..you will leave our economic ventures alone..and we will not undermine your transactions.

The last decades demonstrated to the Islamic nations that relationship with Russia and Russia's military complex was pointless.
America won that round..the smarter Islamic nations shifted their relationship ties to America.

Islams problem is in how they see themselves.
Relationship with America brings great benefit..yet the Mosque does not think so.

Globalization maybe understood in the high places..but not on the streets of Islam..where paranoia reigns.

The West..dragging a kicking and screaming child [Islam]..to the doctors office: )

Time for another pull back. WE pull back to Kuwait. And let all these factions go at it; and let Allah sort them out. And, we'll find out what kind of mettle the Iraq ruling body is made of.

And most important, we don't waste our people, taking fire from three sides.

Did anyone watch russert yesterday (12 apr 04)? Iran said they would take Al-Sadr back! If we let that happen, we would just be making another UBL.

We will not win this war. I said before we invaded Iraq that the problem was that estimates said 1 out of 4 Iraqi's hated our guts and would die for their cause. In a country of 20 million that means you gotta kill upwards to 5 million people. There is no way we will do that.

Someone needs to teach our administration the value of "unconditional surrender".
