a denim jacket over a white Cotton dress is Conservative and cute, a long sweater over a spaghetti strap mid-lenght dress is Conservative and smart. ...the shoes...well ... youthful indescetion...

Let this Texas woman spell it out for you.

Neither girl is dressed appropriately for church.

Denim is not appropriate at church service. After church, or at a youth function, perhaps. Not at church proper.

Unless you are a member of a wedding party, spaghetti straps are never appropriate in a church building.

Hose are never worn with open-toed or open-heeled shoes. Hose go with pumps.

If you live on an island or in the desert, maybe; a lot of places don't consider you totally dressed unless you have on hose.

well, here's to your 35 years of experience! what did you dress like when you were 21?
I think the(cut from video to find the least flattering frames by liberal media hacks) photos show 2 beautiful well dressed young women that are growing up. George W. Bush should be and I'll bet IS very proud of them.

the ease of twisting some peoples views, by selective photo shots is amazing.
I've read posts by you in the past i thought you were a little sharper.

Well of course they are. That's why they make the "sandalfoot" kind.

That advice reminds me of an old story.........

One Sunday morning an old cowboy entered a church just
before services were to begin. Although the old man
and his clothes were spotlessly clean, he wore jeans,
a denim shirt and boots that were very worn and
ragged.

In his hand he carried a worn out old hat and an
equally worn out Bible.
The church he entered was in a very upscale and
exclusive part of the city. It was the largest and
most beautiful church the old cowboy had ever seen.
The people of the congregation were all dressed with
expensive clothes and accessories.

As the cowboy took a seat, the others moved away from
him. No one greeted, spoke to, or welcomed him. They
were all appalled at his appearance and did not
attempt to hide it.

The preacher gave a long sermon about Hellfire and
brimstone and a stern
lecture on how much money the church needed to do
God's work.

As the old cowboy was leaving the church, the preacher
approached
him and asked the cowboy to do him a favor.
"Before you come back in here again, have a talk with
God and ask him
what He thinks would be appropriate attire for
worship."

The old cowboy assured the preacher he would.

The next Sunday, he showed back up for the services
wearing the same ragged jeans, shirt, boots, and hat.
Once again he was completely shunned and ignored.

The preacher approached the man and said, "I thought I
asked you to speak to God before you came back to our
church."

"I did," replied the old cowboy.

"If you spoke to God . "what did he tell you the
proper attire should be for worshiping in here?" asked
the preacher.

"Well, sir, God told me that He didn't have a clue
what I should wear.

He says He's never been in this church before."

Stay Safe.........

Hose are never worn with open-toed or open-heeled shoes.

This may be the rule where you are from, but it's not the rule where I am from, which is "always wear hose except with flat sandals, and even then, wear hose if you want to." Hose are useful in protecting the feet from being abraded by the straps, and they come in nice colors, too.

Hosiery manufacturers have for many years made hose for sandals that don't have the extra fabric - called "sandal toes" or "sheer toes."

What looks awful is wearing regular hose with sandals, the kind with the reinforced toes and heels. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?
