Though tempted to run over the BIG family (as opposed to the populous family that we have--9 of us in all), I restrain myself, figuring the buggy won't win. :) I just wait patiently until they are out of the way. And watch. I really am amazed that folks will wait five minutes to get a sample of a tortilla chip with spinach dip on it. Or have a lil sausage smothered in barbecue sauce. Haven't we all sampled such??????????????????? My poor children are lucky to get to split one sample between all 7 of them! lol

I don't go out of my way to nosh at Costco on the weekend, when they really put out the free samples, in fact, I prefer to avoid the crowds, but I do like grazing at Fresh Fields on sample days. Their stuff is so expensive that I prefer to sample it before I buy it, if I can. Saturday we grazed at Marvelous Market, in DC -- lots of fun stuff like flourless chocolate torte.
Maybe somebody should publish a guide to etiquette and free samples. Running your cart into somebody else's ankle is obviously a no-no.
How about this one - is it a violation of free sample etiquette to sample something you know in advance you'd never buy in a million years?
