Barbara (L) and Jenna Bush, the daughters of U.S. President George W Bush, walk together from the Darnall Army Community Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas, April 11, 2004 after President Bush (news - web sites) and members of his family visited with soldiers wounded in Iraq (news - web sites). Bush awarded 10 purple hearts to troops recovering in the hospital, after attending an Easter Sunday Church service at a chapel within the army base in central Texas.

Hose? You do know that panty hose are not in style right now. They are a real no-no for summer and spring.

"Did you sign up on FR just to trash the Bush family?"
No. I am not trashing the Bush family. I am pointing out that what the twins were wearing to Easter Services was not appropriate clothing, IMHO. Please do not mischaracterize the nature of my posts as that would be a liberal way of doing things.
"You seem to be obsessed with it."
Not really.
I am just responding to all the people who are having a hissy fit about my rather mild comments on the way the twins dressed for Easter Services on an army base in central Texas. I think they could have dressed more appropriately, but it seems that quite a few posters here on this forum think that I should not be allowed to make such a mild observation for some reason or other.

Speaking as an OLD VET, who remembers his youth, I can firmly state that the BUSH daughters "FASHION" statement was MOST WELCOME and probably will be the TALK of the WARDS for weeks to come. I can think of nothing more MORALE BOOSTING than two fashion conscience young ladies visiting our wounded soldiers.Exactly and bears repeating!

A voice of reason. Now Pisano has spoken, I agree and think he sounds like he is the real thing.

you said they were dressed trashy. that is simply not true. and while i am totally in agreement with your theory that he who pays the bills makes the rules, a parent cannot be a dictator. I have a 15 1/2 yo daughter (of course, she would stand in the shadow of your's, oh DS...) Here is the dress she wore to sunday Mass yesterday.
she wore a sweater, because it was cold in No.VA, but she was dressed completely appropriately and better than most at that Mass.
now i would not have chosen that dress for her. i PAID for it, but it is not what i would choose for an Easter Sunday dress. but because it is not INAPPROPRIATE or TRASHY, i acquiesced to her taste and choice. i imagine that the president and his wife do the same.

"Laura Bush is arguably the classiest woman in America"
I agree.
I am sure she is proud of her daughters and for good reason.
That doesn't change the fact that those outfits are rather outré.

hosiery is now optional but for a certain kind of woman in certain areas, well she would rather die. I would not think of going any where when dressed including work without hosiery even when it is 106. with pants I wear trouser socks or thigh highs. With sandals I do not wear hose with slacks or skirts unless it is a dressy sandal and a dressy occasion then I wear the cut outs. I do not have young gorgeous legs. If I did I would give up hosiery.

"So, who appointed you the fashion critic for Church on Easter Sunday?"
No one, I was just giving my opinion. Why does that bother you so much?

THAT is funny. Nice connection...

The dress is fashion poor and not in line with the class of her mother. She can dress much better and still insire desire in the troops. You boys that like you girls cheap are not helping society.

well, here's to your 35 years of experience! what did you dress like when you were 21?
I think the(cut from video to find the least flattering frames by liberal media hacks) photos show 2 beautiful well dressed young women that are growing up. George W. Bush should be and I'll bet IS very proud of them.
the ease of twisting some peoples views, by selective photo shots is amazing.
I've read posts by you in the past i thought you were a little sharper.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! You sound like Mr. Blackwell!!!

I've read this whole thread, and you have expressed the same opinion over and over. We get it: you think their outfits "inappropriate." Enough already.
Howlin, post #301 is a howler!
