In Vietnam the Viet Cong were overwelmed and pretty much erraticated during Tet. They were replaced with the North Vietnamese regular army. There is no regular army to replace the Sadr's militia.

The democrats think that Vietnam was a problem for Richard Nixon and the Republicans.

Click here for the truth about what Viet Name did to Nixon at the polls

The Democrats apparently are under the illusion that the Vietnam War was devastating to Republican candidates. That was not the case.

When the left could not defeat Nixon at the polls on Vietnam, they used the break in of the DNC by Nixon operatives to take Nixon down.

For Democrats the VietNam War as a political issue was a huge failure.

They signify either wishful thinking by an obsessively anti-American faction of politicians, journalists and academics, or an abysmal ignorance of history.

Into which of these two categories does Ted Kennedy fit?

The main grossly overlooked point is not only that the VC or north Viet Nam never attacked the US but they never threatened to rule the world by sharia.
Had they then Viet Nam would not have been a Viet Nam

But they really, really want it to be Vietnam.

I remember seeing "Nicaragua is Spanish for Vietnam" bumperstickers when I was a kid. Then I saw them updated for the first gulf war.

Some poeple simply want all uses of American power to be Vietnam.

Q, with all due respect, herein lies the problem with unnecessary excerpts:

We could not find the page you requested. This is often because older content has been removed from our site. In most cases you can still find the item via our archive service, News Store, where you can buy articles for a small fee.

The article is gone from the SMH site. Unfortunately, it will go unread. And uncompensated, irrespective of the copyright status you so zealously guard.

"The gullible and confused ....."

Regrettably, this constitutes a significant portion of the American electorate.
