JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Bob Holden on Friday delivered good news to Missouri's 524 public school districts and did what Republicans have been asking him to do for months.
Holden released $127 million that he had withheld from public schools and universities last year to balance the state budget. Holden, a Democrat, said a combination of positive budgeting developments - not improving state revenue - prompted him to make the decision.

The voters here in the Hazelwood school district got snookered into voting for a 32% increase in our personal property tax. It past by about 100 votes. Can't tell you how pi$$ed of I am about it.
I think the governor was in cahoots with the educators who pushed for this.

One term BobHow about "voter fraud Bob".
Talent would have been governor if not for the "Banana Republic" of St. Louis City.

One of our sons, who is five, starts at Saint Sabina in Sept, and our youngest, who is three will start when he is oldest. My daughter from a previous, who is nine, goes to a Catholic school in Baltimore County. The costs are outrageous, but its what we prefer to do. When the schools hit us for money, at least we know where its going. Tuesdays ballot raised taxes 32%, and there is no guarantee it will not be raised in another two years. I dont care what the money is for, I cant vote for a tax increase. Instead of that pretty new sidewalk on Lindbergh (built by illegals)they could have given to the school district..

Even a liberal co-worker of mine voted against it. He also sends his kids to a Catholic School (St Angela).

We live in Pleasant Hollow, right off Shackleford. St Sabina, is a two minute car ride. If the city or county wants to raise taxes, why dont they do it to fix the deplorable state of Missouri roads??

Make the city pay for it, I live in the county! Better yet have the ball team pay for it.
I'm right down Mulanphy near Patterson which isn't far from Pleasant Hollow.
Have a good Easter, too.

We were successful in stopping a community college boondogle here in Camden County. 'twould have jacked our property taxes by $300/year, for no reason. We already have Columbia College and other schools have classes at the Lake of the Ozarks.

We were successful in stopping a community college boondogle here in Camden County. Good for you guys. I hate to think where this state would be if not for the conservatives that live in the Ozarks.
Happy Easter.
