WASHINGTON -- Thousands of people are expected to rally this weekend to call for the U.S. to pull out of Iraq.
Protestors plan to gather at Lafayette Park Saturday. The protestors are then expected to march through several commercial and residential areas in the district, News4 reported.
The group A.N.S.W.E.R, or Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, has organized dozens of protests, which began Friday in Los Angeles.
Demonstrations are planned through Monday in more than 50 cities around the country, News4 reported.
Members urged the administration to use the money spent fighting the war on education and healthcare inside the U.S.

Didn't the President already set a date in 2 months to leave Iraq? We're not finished, yet. What's their problem?

They want Bush out of office and they are trying to get the American population to get disgusted enough with Iraq so that they will call for his Impeachment. All their efforts are failing by the way. So they look utterly ridiculous!

If we left and gave Iraq their leader Saddam back, would those people mourn the millions of deaths he would cause?
Hyppocrits all.
Education doesn't need more money just a better curriculuum.
Everyone wants "free healthcare", all the while they can't educate themselves enough to look at the Europeans and really find out exactly what "free" means.
Does 16% of income with Employer matching funds satisfy them? Is that really "free"?

I am so sick and f'ing tired of these professional whiners. I'll bet these has been morons are washouts from the sixties and are the same crowd that goes to the anti globalization bitch-fests.
These have no basis for their whining other than that they hate Bush. These are the same kool-aid drinking flat earth lib's who cannot get over the election in Florida.
Odd that this group is populated by a organization called Moveon, but, they cannot seem to move on.

No. The hand-off is largely cerimonial. The military and civilian authorities will remain and will probably be there for many years to come.

Maybe we should prepare a signed statement to be faxed to the Washington Times, Fox News, CNN and a few others denouncing this protest, Kerry giving Al-Sadr a legitimate voice, and Kennedy's statements.

Can someone answer me this: Last year, around the time of the Iraq war, there were classified ads in at least the Austin American- Statesman looking for activists? Were they really hiring bodies for the next protest or was it something more along the lines of organizers, etc.?

They got away with hog-tying the military efforts in Viet Nam and ended up causing an untold number of young men's deaths. I was a teenager then but I still remember my fury, and the anger still lingers.
I will most definitely sign your statement. I don't think I could stand the anguish should they be successful this time, too. I really despise what Kerry, Kennedy,et. al. stand for--reaquisition of power at all cost even if it means siding with our nation's enemies to the harm of those fighting for freedom.Despicable!
