Phil and Dimarco in the final group...Phil might slip one at 18

You just had to bring up that U.S. Open missed putt, didn't you?!
Just kidding. Believe me...he's beat himself up over it more than anyone else ever will.
I missed most of the play today. I like the way Phil's looking (and thinking). He looks good for tomorrow...unless, of course, a certain player in 10th place has one heck of an Easter!

Today Phil made 6 clutch putts from 8-20 feet. I've never seen him even come close to that. The one to save par on 18 was an exclamation point.
He has to fend off Dimarco who traditionaly plays well at Augusta.
I think it will be between those two & not anyone from within the pack.
Todays final pairing went 81, 79...I don't expect that on Sunday.
Cink had a nice outing today although he got zero TV time as an early starter.

I guess this would be a bad time to ping our Tiger-worshipping friend to the thread?I think Tiger has spent too much time in the gym with Barry Bonds and their trainer Anderson.
The juice has added too much bulk to him this year.

Sounds like fun to me. The deluded can be highly entertaining.

Tiger's still playing great in the non-majors, considering the earnings he's pulling without winning major one could argue he's doing better than ever in the other tourneys. Something about the majors has the zap on him though. Happens to greats sometimes, look how the New Jersey Devils are collapsing.

This is Tiger's worst year yet. He has one victory, accenture match play. He is doing things that are not characteristic of the Tiger of 2000-2002. HE has shot several rounds over par and has really butchered some holes. Two years ago he was flawless.
This could be the year that someone else gets POY.

It's still early. He could still win the Masters with a good round and some choke help on the leader board. Or not.

He's nine shots back and has several people to pass. It would be an unprecedented comeback. He could shoot a 67 Sunday at best. That would put him at 2 under. 7 under wins.

Never count Tiger out until somebody else is hoisting the trophy. For all we know he could be poisoning the water of the rest of the leader board right now ;)
