The California economy added 5,200 jobs in March but failed to keep pace with the rest of the country in employment growth, according to state figures released Friday.
Nationally, the number of jobs grew by 308,000 last month.
"The March numbers were certainly disappointing compared to what the nation has done in the last couple of months," said Stephen Levy of the Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy.
"It sure would be something to worry about if it persisted," he said.

If we built a couple of new nuke plants for power and 3 new refineries for starters, maybe that would help. But that would take so many years anyway, forget it.

Dang, there opening up more hotels than I can count...
Little inside joke here.

This cannot be correct. John Kerry told me and the rest of the American people just yesterday that a large part of the 300,000 jobs added in March were from the CA grocers going back to work.

I don't see many stores advertising lower prices all the time these days and that includes the vast majority in my area.
I know I would shop there if I had a SuperCenter reasonably closeby.
Maybe of some corporations paid their execs less, they could afford to be more competitive.
Too bad about Inglewood.

Too bad about Inglewood. A lot of unemployed people there will remain unemployed.
