TUCSON - Jim Kolbe knows he has angered and disappointed some Republicans in Cochise County with his views on how to address border issues.
But the 10-term U.S. representative said he has focused on the problem and stands by his guest-worker proposal as part of the solution.
Saying he is focused on the border issue, the congressman said there has to be ways found to realistically change what is happening.
"I know the problem. God knows I know the problem," he said. "They (area border residents) are frustrated. They want something done."
He made his comments Wednesday to members of the media after his annual State of the District speech, hosted by the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
Kolbe will be facing state Rep. Randy Graf in the Republican Party's primary

Could Kolbe be running scared?
Bush and Bush also know the problem. Neither are doing anything about it.

Kolbe is an individual that conservatives in Arizona need to remove from the Congress.
You'll win the war if and only if you take a narrow focus on solving your immediate problems ahead those of the national party and it's candidate.
You will not win, incrementally or otherwise if you continue to support any political office holder who isn't staunch in recognizing the simple solution to your problem:
Regulate immigration.

Given the treatment that he's gotten here in Cochise County you better believe it. He's scared! He barely won last time and we weren't this angry.

Saying he is focused on the border issue, the congressman said there has to be ways found to realistically change what is happening. As long as the border stays open, not much is going to change --- not realistically. When immigration has some controls placed on it, something will have to change in Mexico --- if the people can't leave, they will demand changes and if the elites of Mexico are smart (they aren't very), they'll make changes ASAP or they had better start packing their bags and heading over to Europe.
