Neil Bush not father of tot, testing says

HOUSTON – Paternity testing shows presidential brother Neil Bush did not father the child of his mistress-turned-wife, attorneys in a slander case against his former wife said yesterday.

Sharon Bush, Neil Bush's former wife of 23 years, is accused of spreading rumors that the child at the center of a defamation lawsuit was fathered by her ex-husband.

The suit was filed last year by Robert Andrews, who previously was married to Bush's current wife, Maria Andrews Bush. Robert Andrews, whose DNA matched that of the boy, claims the rumors harmed his 3-year-old son.

"You can't unring a bell," said Andrews' attorney, Dale Jefferson. "Sharon Bush rang the bell by spreading this false rumor. And because the Bush family is the closest thing to royalty that we have in America, this would be a rumor that would follow this precious child unless we stopped it at the outset."

Jefferson called the results "complete vindication for the Andrews family."

However, Sharon Bush's attorney, David Berg, said yesterday that the results will have no impact on the pending civil lawsuit against her. Sharon Bush never said Neil Bush was the father, he said.

"We will meet them in court," Berg said.

The suit alleges Sharon Bush felt "anger and bitterness" over the breakup of her marriage to Neil Bush and blamed Maria Andrews for causing the marriage to fail. As a result, the lawsuit alleges, Sharon Bush made the false statements about the lineage of the "helpless toddler."

"Of course the only solution as far as the children are concerned is that they must be taken and raised in an antispetic envionment by the State and have no parents."

You're kidding, right?

So, committment intimidates you and keeps you from being able to play the field?

I happen to one of those people who is a confirmed bachelor. I have absolutely no desire to have anyone tell what to do or when to do it ergo I just have no need to be in any kind of permanent situation.

Well just think of all the heartbreak that can be avoided when children are involved in a divorce. Just remove them and have the state do the job. Then we can evolve into a society of emotionless people, you know kind of like the Planet Vulcan, logic will dictate things not emotion.

It's good for a person to recognize who they are. Too many don't and make mistakes that they pay for all of their lives.

Did you read the recent Vanity Fair piece on Neil Bush and his ex-wife?? It was in last month's issue.

Obviously meant to be a Bush hit piece, but Neil came across IMO as a nice guy, while his ex came across as loonytunes.

I have to disagree. Neil hasn't been as successful as his brothers and his ex-wife comes across as money-grubbing shrew, who was eaten up with jealousy. I think he was looking for love outside his marriage, which is wrong, but hardly unique. Try to get the Vanity Fair article. It's very illuminating.
