HOUSTON Paternity testing shows presidential brother Neil Bush did not father the child of his mistress-turned-wife, attorneys in a slander case against his former wife said yesterday.
Sharon Bush, Neil Bush's former wife of 23 years, is accused of spreading rumors that the child at the center of a defamation lawsuit was fathered by her ex-husband.
The suit was filed last year by Robert Andrews, who previously was married to Bush's current wife, Maria Andrews Bush. Robert Andrews, whose DNA matched that of the boy, claims the rumors harmed his 3-year-old son.
"You can't unring a bell," said Andrews' attorney, Dale Jefferson. "Sharon Bush rang the bell by spreading this false rumor. And because the Bush family is the closest thing to royalty that we have in America, this would be a rumor that would follow this precious child unless we stopped it at the outset."
Jefferson called the results "complete vindication for the Andrews family."
However, Sharon Bush's attorney, David Berg, said yesterday that the results will have no impact on the pending civil lawsuit against her. Sharon Bush never said Neil Bush was the father, he said.
"We will meet them in court," Berg said.
The suit alleges Sharon Bush felt "anger and bitterness" over the breakup of her marriage to Neil Bush and blamed Maria Andrews for causing the marriage to fail. As a result, the lawsuit alleges, Sharon Bush made the false statements about the lineage of the "helpless toddler."

OK, I take back what I said about hating him and where he should go when he dies. Are you going to dispute what I have to say about the sanctity of marriage?

Neil Bush is such a schmuck! He's one hell of a blemish on what seems to be an otherwise good family. God, I hate him.Your hate is clear.
Your reasons are not.

Welcome aboard RPTMS. In this venue, what do you think of John F. Kerry's morality?

So........you expect people to take your morality seriously when you say you hate a person and he should go to hell??
Yeah..........right.
Your moral authority is down the tube, newbie......
That said, what you said about fidelity is right. I just don't believe you meant it.

I read your posts.
You hate every person who dumps the spouse?
Neil is NOT a public figure.
He is a private citizen, famous family notwithstanding.

I think his morality is very poor. Given his Catholic upbringing, he knows very well the sinfulness of adultery and abortion.
Do you guys think I'm a liberal? I admire George W. Bush! I plan to vote for him again.

Does this mean Neil is impotent? Or just a low sperm count?

As I said before, I take back what I said about hating Neil Bush and where he should go when he dies. But what I said about the sanctity of marriage is not "my morality." It is the sixth commandment. Do you disagee with that? Why don't you believe I meant it?

For about the third time, I take back what I said about hating Neil Bush and where he should go when he dies. It was uncharitable of me. Still, I think our society should stop smiling on adultery. As for Neil being a private citizen, I'm not the one who wrote the article or posted it. I just said what I think about it.

I'll just say that I'm sorry Neil and Sharon Bush could not work out whatever the problems were. Divorce is extremely hard on a family - hateful and hurtful things are said and done, the kids suffer, the extended family suffers.
Neil Bush is not Catholic, as far as I know. I believe Jeb converted to Catholicism, as his wife is Catholic.

I understand the sixth commandment, and I share your concern about the complacency of our society for divorce, even among Christians.
Welcome to Free Republic. I'm glad you understand that you need to be more judicious in your comments.
You made a very bad first impression.
