[history]
April 9 (Bloomberg) -- A growing number of Americans say they believe the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush did everything that could be expected to stop the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, according to two new polls.
A Time/CNN survey taken yesterday showed that 48 percent of Americans said they believe the Bush administration did all it could to prevent the attacks, up from 42 percent in a poll taken March 26-28. A CBS News poll, also conducted yesterday, showed 32 percent of Americans said the administration did everything possible to stop the attacks, up from 22 percent the previous week.

One poll they forgot to mention:
In a poll of news stations across the US,
Will your station show this statistic that supports Bush without putting a liberal spin on it?
100% No
0% Yes
Margin of error: 0.0%

I would like to see a poll questioning whether or not people think Clinton, in his 8 years as President, after letting Al Qaeda get away with attacking us on numerous occasions at home and abroad, did enough about Al Qaeda...

The entire country was on a peacetime, rosy, shoppingmall agenda, dot.com millionaires were popping up everywhere, security was zero. The complaint the day after was that now the gov't would curtail our freedoms. About one out of two Americans still want to believe it didn't happen, or that it is over or would be over except for the war in Iraq.

Oh we were active pre 9/11 in Clinton's America. We had to stop Slobodan Milosevic's legions from invading New York.

Was talking with the wife last night about the democrats effort to claim president Bush "knew" about the attacks and could/should have done more to protect America. In order to make a political assertion stick, there has to be some basis in truth - say for example, flip-flops by Sen. Kerry using his own words "I actually voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it".
This is a charge that only a rabid parasitic Bush-hater could believe based on his bold and steady leadership post-911.
Bring It On.

Serbia was the UN/NATO's project. Germany started it, first thing they've done on their own since Berlin fell. Clinton bankrolled it, and the Liberals said, 'Of course have to stop the eevil Serbs.' Of course.

Where is the poll on whether Clinton did all he could You might want to make it really clear that you're referring to terrorism and not the Kama Sutra.

Not being a fight fan, I'm unsure of terminology, but I do believe President Bush and Dr. Rice just sucker punched this 9/11 Kerry for President Commission.
This partisan commission decides to host Dick Clark, ask him leading questions that point the finger at Dr. Rice "knowing" that President Bush won't allow an adviser to testify. The sucker punch - not only does she do a masterful job testifying, she uses Kerrey's own words about Iraq against him, after he offers up an ill advised diatribe against the war.
Round Two: Now they want the August pdb declassified. Do we see another punch about to be delivered?
To: veronica
Time/CNN: 48% +/- 3% CBS: 32% +/- 5%
Statistically speaking, it is one chance in a million that you could obtain these results in two random samples. Something stinks to high heaven here, and I suspect the smell is wafting our way from CBS.

It appears that Democrats brilliant 9/11 Commission strategy has backfired on them.
Good thing these morons aren't running the military.

Considering CBS has a fiscal intrest in Lying Clarke's book, I think we can pretty much dismiss their poll numbers as pure propaganda designed to pro up fading book sales

It's likely that only a poll asking Americans if something more should be done to prevent terrorism would have motivated Mr. Clinton and then only if the poll showed that action was desired. I doubt such a poll was ever taken and I doubt such a poll would have revealed that Americans desired anything more than calm water.
Why no presidential briefings from the Clinton administration? Or wasn't Bin Laden around at the time?

Information related to the embassy bombings:
SUSAN RICE: I can't comment on the specifics of that threat, but let me say that we receive threats-I'm told-as many as 30,000 a year to our facilities around the world. They're all taken seriously; they're all investigated. But we have nothing to suggest any direct link to what has happened today. As I said, again, that's going to be a question for the investigators to look into. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/africa/july-dec98/bomb_8-7.html
ADMIRAL WILLIAM CROWE, JR.: First thing we discovered, of course, as we began to get into the security issue more and more was that it's widely - security affairs are widely dispersed throughout the U.S. Government. Many people have a chunk of it. It's difficult to pinpoint responsibility. But, of course, one of the main things that runs throughout this question is the funding for it.
PHIL PONCE: And you believe it's been seriously under-funded?
ADMIRAL WILLIAM CROWE, JR.: Yes, very much so. It certainly has not improved in the last decade the vulnerability of position of these embassies. Now, that's striking, given the Inman report of 1985, which pointed out many of the things. And one of the things that -
PHIL PONCE: The Inman report came out after the 1983 bombings -
ADMIRAL WILLIAM CROWE, JR.: That is correct.
PHIL PONCE: -- of the American embassy in Beirut and the Marine barracks bombing.
ADMIRAL WILLIAM CROWE, JR.: One of the main things that struck is most notably is we keep running across recommendations that turn out to be the same ones the Inman report made. Not much has changed, but those recommendations are still very valid. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/africa/jan-june99/bombings_1-8.html
ADMIRAL WILLIAM CROWE, JR.: Well, and in many departments and in the State Department, itself. If there were two things that struck us that we really were concerned about and very disturbed about is first of all there were not sufficient funding put into the resource side of the picture. And almost every one of these questions, ultimately, if you want to improve it or change it or do something worthwhile, comes down to a matter of money. But also the procedures, there were some real gaps in the procedures throughout the system, not just in the embassy, not just in the field, that ignored the threat, the specifics of the threat of a car bomb.
ADMIRAL WILLIAM CROWE, JR.: Well, as we said, You got -
