Vanity: California Accident Info Sought
Posted on 04/09/2004 5:26:39 AM PDT by sonrise57
My wife's family (sister, 2 neices, mother and brother in law) were in a terrible accident yesterday on the way from mountain view to san francisco. They are vacationing in California from New Jersey. An SUV traveling in the opposite direction went across the median, became airborne and landed on their vehicle. All are now hospitalized in Stanford Univeristy Medical Center with various degrees of injuries, though nothing seems to be life-threatening. My brother-in-law is worse off, he is in critical condition with a basal skull fracture and a bruised lung. I am looking for California freepers who have any information: news links, etc about this accident. Thanks alot.

Here's a local article, along with my prayers for your family. If its any consolation, Stanford Medical Center is an Outstanding facility.
http://www.smdailyjournal.org/article.cfm?issue=04-09-04&storyID=29730 Crash injures family of five
A San Mateo woman is in jail for driving under the influence of drugs and crashing into a family of five from New Jersey driving a minivan on Interstate 280, critically injuring one man.
Everyone involved survived because they were wearing seat belts, according to a CHP report.

Good work, and add my prayers for the family.
Fung was treated for a cut to her forearm before being booked into San Mateo County Jail, according to the CHP.
How typical, the 43 year old woman only received a cut.

the CHP reported, 43-year-old Cheryl Fung of San Mateo was driving under the influence at about 65 mph when her 1999 Chevrolet Blazer drifted toward the center guardrail on southbound I-280 near Farm Hill Boulevard. Can I be truthful here? It's common knowledge in Cal that most Asians are the worst of the worst drivers. Even the CHP has a name for them, calling it (DWO) "Driving while Oriental". I can't imagine an intoxicated Asian driving a 3 ton SUV at 65 MPH.
