I found it interesting that Imus slammed Mathews just this morning for his performance, yet continues to make wildassed accusations concerning the President in the very next breath.

I will suggest that boycotting MSNBC is self defeating for those of us that are "political junkies". Better to know what the "opposition" is up too, than to remain in the dark and get blindsided.

Besides, its not like MSNBC carries any weight politically, there are only a couple of hundred thousand that watch it at any given time.

I shared your opinion for years. I kept watching Matthews because he occasionally "got it" and Imus because he wasn't being such a wildass until the past few months.

It's just too much. Matthews giving airtime to the most accusatory of the 9/11 widows, and egging them on with their conspiracy theories. Matthews has had Ernest Strada on his evening show, so he is aware that there are many 9/11 familes that don't share the opinions of the four that he continues to showcase.

Imus lost me last week when he was playing the audio part of remarks made by President Bush about Iraq - he was cackling and calling GWB insane. I've watched Imus for years, and this is far beyond his usual humor.

IMHO, MSNBC threw away their credibility - and any attempt at fairness - when Rick Kaplan took over. Their ratings are low enough that a ten percent drop is huge. If this dropoff can be laid at Kaplan's feet, so much the better.
