Cell May Be Planning 'Holy War' in Spain (Evidence of Easter attack)

The suspected terrorists who died in last weekend's suicide blast planned another major attack in Madrid, possibly during this week's Easter celebrations, a court official said Wednesday.
Police also said Saturday's explosion during a police storming of an apartment may have killed seven suspects, and this and the arrests of other suspects could stir another terror cell to mount a jihad or 'holy war' in Spain, according to the official, who asked not to be identified.
The official said that explosives and other evidence found in the apartment after Saturday's explosion indicated the suspects killed planned an imminent follow up to the train attacks.
The government believes at least three of those killed in the suicide blast south of Madrid were among the six whose international arrest warrants were issued last week.
Police are looking for up to three people who may have fled the apartment before the suicide blast and are hiding out near Madrid, the newspaper El Pais reported.

How dare you post these lies! Everyone knows that the enlightened voters of Spain removed all threat of terrorism by voting in Socialists, who won't engage in racist wars against persecuted Muslim minorities.

But, but, but, the French surrendered. I mean the Spanish surrendered. Why would they attack after they have surrendered??

In related news 80% of Spain's population decided to convert to Islam this week.

They never learn, do they!

That's right! If we would just hear the genuine concerns of the persecuted Islamic minority, they would see our enlightened intentions and the goodness of our hearts and will leave us alone. We are so smart and make so much sense that they will see us for what we are.
And also of course we should end our racist support for Israel. Those Jews are just so warlike...
sarcasm off.

Doesn't a "war" imply that two or more sides are fighting?

But, but Spain's check is already in the mail.

The wisdom of 'Old Europe' and the Neville Chamberlain doctrine shine again!
The Islamic terrorists have already attempted twice to blow up a train track, but in both occasions
they were surprised by Spanish passersby. The first time they tried to blow up the Madrid-Seville line. Then last Saturday, they tried to blow up the Madrid-Lerida line.
Furthermore, the terrorists who killed themselves when surrounded by police in Leganes last Saturday had a big mall as the next target. The terrorists had detailed maps of Parquesur Mall, half a mile away from the terrorists' apartment.
Btw, Parquesur Mall is a large complex; in addition to 200 stores, includes a multiplex movie theater (2000 capacity), a night club and a hotel.
I suspect al-Qaida is also planning attacks in a large mall somewhere in the US. No need to train pilots, just a few suicide bombers with nasty substances.
I hope our mall security is up to the task.

Spain will most likely be attacked again. As much as I hate to say it, it might be the only way they will learn their lesson that you cannot negotiate with terrorists, and attempting to do so only grants them a sense of power.
I honestly wonder how some people made it through grade school. Did they appease bullies with their lunch money too?
To: george wythe
No need even to attack a large mall. There are plenty of targets of opportunity. Malls, supermarkets, churches, movie theaters, schools. Only citizen vigilance can prevent such attacks.
Al Qaeda prefers hard targets of high symbolic value, but they have already shown that they will turn to soft targets if necessary.

The terrorists are no fools. One bombing attack got them the wussy socialist
Spanish government they wanted.
Enough bomb blasts and they'll get Spain back for Islam.

Do you really believe that people voted a socialist government in in Spain to appease terrorists? The simple fact is that the majority of people in Spain were against the war in Iraq before the bombings and after. The crucial fact in the election in Spain was the appaling arrogance of a government willing to lie to its people. For a view from Spain check out the editorial in
http://www.threemonkeysonline.com Believe it or not, it is possible to be against terrorism and to be opposed to the war in Iraq.
