Dr. Rice is such a refreshing voice in front of this comision.
No faux apologies. No partisian bashing. Just the facts.
IMHO, She won't directly say anything negative about Tricky Dick Clarke or anyone else that's taken pot shots at the Pres. in that chair, but her comments and statement of what really was going on in the WH will cut them off at the knees just as effectively.

Condi is saying that the only thing that could have conceivably helped is more information about activity in the U.S., something made difficult by stuctural and legal impediments. (I'm paraphrasing).
Just as WW2 led to fundamental reorganization, so too as 9/11 made sweeping changes in the way we protect our homeland.
I'm having a hard time typing fast enough. :)

P.S. How can you prejudge Condi's testimony, how do you know she is going to lie? I didn't, I asked if this was you're position since that is what Ollie North did and you were comparing her to him. I always assume testimony under oath is true unless it is demonstrated otherwise and prosecuted.

I'll never forget Powell testifying to the 9/11 Commission that:
1. In February 2001 the Bush administration closed the New York City Taliban Office. (Say that aloud a few times and imagine that Clinton let it stay OPEN!!!)
2. In April 2001 the Bush administration told the Taliban if there was an attack in our country, they would be held responsible.
3. In April 2001 the Bush administration started seizing the Taliban and AQ assets.
Little stuff like that - stuff Clinton didn't do in 8 years.

what would we do without FR commentary? These live threads are fantastic.

Made elimination of AQ high priority, some of the highly-classified documents will be made public. The Dems have been begging for the "cheese". The trap has sprung.

Greg,
Do you have ANYTHING constructive to add, or are you intent upon continuing your sophomoric, childish and pathetic repeating of a tacky cliche?

As an official on duty on 9/11 she will never forget the sorrow she felt, nor the bravery of Americans.
We can move forward.
9/11 made possible sweeping changes in the way we can defend our country. President Bush created the Dept. of Homeland Security, lists other changes--sharing of info between FBI and CIA. Patriot Act to help catch terrorists, protect our character as a free and open society.
More structural reforms will likely be necessary.

Winding up her statement. Notice all the nervous coughing and shifting around in the room. Are the 9/11 "families" there today? Anyone know if any DC FReepers made it in?

Condi is doing a wonderful job of summing up exactly what took place, and if these liberals are not careful they will look like the "blood" of those Americans are on their hands!
To: fml
What the heck is that gross smacking sound coming form his mouth?
Its the making of a denture commercial.
