A representative of an Israeli medical association wrote to a German firm, requesting information about medical conferences in San Diego—and received the following, almost unbelievable reply:

This email was sent to me when I asked about conferences in San Diego. I believe that this is definitely the time for solidarity and that the comments below cannot be ignored.

Well, for your information, I happen to have known a few Germans. They are not anti-semitic. Just ask them and you will be assured. I did ask once. I asked about the Holocaust, and I was told "that was a long time ago."

So there you go. Any rumors about Germans being anti-semitic are obviously not very well thought out. All you have to do is ask a German and you'll see.

I hope that this clears up any confusion that you may have had about the matter.
