Their control will be fleeting. By acting up now, they've exposed thier true goals, and they will be crushed now so that they cannot cause problems after we pull back.

What amazes me ...is that we finally took the gloves off.
Killing Sadr's man in Karbala......is huge. That sends a huge message.

It's great that the Poles did it too. Gives that "multinational feel" that Kerry is constantly whining about. The prick.

More detailed info:
Marine Corps Organization
Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF): The MEF is the principal war fighting element in the active force structure of the Marine Corps and is usually commanded by a lieutenant general. The size and composition of a deployed MEF varies depending on the needs of the mission.
Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB): A MEB, usually led by a brigadier general, is built around a reinforced infantry regiment, an aircraft group and a Service Support Group. Capable of rapid deployment and employment via amphibious or airlift methods, it is the first echelon of a Marine Expeditionary Force.
Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU): The smallest task force unit, the MEU has approximately 2,200 personnel and is built around a reinforced infantry battalion, a composite aircraft squadron and a support group. It is commanded by a colonel and is routinely deployed with an Amphibious Ready Group. The ground element of a MEU is a Battalion Landing Team (BLT), comprised of a reinforced infantry battalion of approximately 1,200 Marines, including three Rifle Companies. The aviation unit of a MEU is a reinforced medium helicopter squadron.

BTW, II MEF's site described a MEF's force structure as more than 47K, so it sounds like it's essentially the same size as I recall.

Got to lay down for a while. Insomnia last night and I have been up since 2 AM. I will check back in a couple of hours.

Terp, you're probably thinking of a MEU attached to III MEF. Thanks for the correction I think [grin].

I figured it was on a par with what comes out of the Imus program and his "regulars." How would you know if it's not worth watching?
Tell me your sources and I'm sure I can find fault, also.
Tolerance, my friend!

I looked at the other post but saw no mention of Al Qaeda.

To clarify ealier discussion, what size is at Falujah? I don't know, and hopefully the enemy doesn't know either. That would most likely be an operationally sensitive or classified piece of information.

Victory today! And many, many testimonies of the LORD's goodness, grace and mercy! Even the rocks cry out saying about the enemy "here we are, here we are, come and get us!" And the Marines will go and get them! HalleluJAH!

Well, we knew there was an army division there before, so I'm not sure that in general we wouldn't know what size marine unit is there. We just wouldn't know the size of the unit that's conducting the operation.

Look at this Blog
http://healingiraq.blogspot.com/
I was standing outside with neighbours yesterday afternoon gossiping when a car drove by, threw a couple of fliers at us, shouting "read them, may Allah increase your reward". The fliers were signed by a group which called itself Saif Allah Albattar (Allah's striking sword) at Ramadi, Fallujah, Adhamiya, and Diyala, which advised Iraqis to remain home on April 9th (the anniversary of the occupation), stating that they would not be responsible if anyone failed to do so. Someone else talked about another group called the Iraqi Islamic Army (groups like these seem to pop up every other day) which claimed its responsibility for the killings of the 4 Americans in Fallujah last week, decribing them as 'Jews'.
