Tell me if I am wrong, but I heard an ABC news report at the top of the hour and the reporterette said "massive" US caualties two times during her report about the 12 Marines that have been killed. But "massive"? No, these are not massive. They don't know massive. Even though any US serviceman that is killed or injured is very bad and hurting, this reporterette and the media in general should not be reporting that way. Numbers are numbers, but to put their own opinion into what is supposed to be straight reporting is wrong.

We have in the last 11 months been best with terrorism, sabotage and hit-n-run mortars attacks, but absolutely nothing that could be called "major combat". Nothing we can throw a B-52 bomber at or an armored division.

Now, what we are facing is the kind of like the 'occupation' that Israel had in Lebanon for about 18 years, from about the 10% that actively hates us, and peaceful civil affairs occupation from the 90% that want us there.

And trying to juggle that mix has been a real pain... That's a problem but not 'major combat'.
