Jim Angle on FoxNews reporting that there may be a problem with military being able to vote this year.

It seems to have to do with state laws--that ALL absentee ballots HAVE to be sent and received by mail (27 states). Due to duty stations, ballots arrive late, thus being invalid.

GAO report says too little has been done to solve the problem. Mail to/from some duty stations take upwards of 2 months.

I heard that disgusting report too. Why on earth can't the powers that be get this straightened out? If any one deserves to pick their CinC it's the ones putting their lives on the line like they are today! Grrrr

Well, this wouldn't be the first election where elements of the USPS screwed with the military's ability to vote.

Just as well, there was a poll in Stars and Stripes a few months ago that showed that there wasn't strong support in the rank and file for Bush, at that point they weren't going to vote overwhelmingly for him... That may have changed by now, but delays likely won't hurt the President's chances.
