And 70 men armed with AKs/RPGs is still a major problem.
Depends who they attacked I would think, but surely it could be a problem. I think we probably will just have to wait until it's over to find out the truth.
Hey - thanks to everyone for the updates. Going to break camp here at the cube farm and head home. Will check in later.
Continuing prayers for battlefield success and divine protection for our troupes!

I did not hear it myself--no TV here. But there have been several reports that the explosives recently found in Britain were possibly intended for use in conjunction with a deadly gas--was that what they were referring to?

Seventy or so Baathists attacking a Marine compound...I think we are still going to have to wait a while until the facts get sorted out. In the last hour, I think I've also heard Bret Baer report that...
- Iraqi's attack in wave after wave
- 130 Iraqi's killed.
It seems strange to me that: 1) an attack by 70 could be correctly characterized as "wave after wave" and 2) that 130 could have been killed when only 70 attacked.

something about a CHEMICAL bomb plot foiled?
Nope - I missed it too.

Kennedy, a Senator used the word, Quagmire, and thus officially opened up its usage again. LOL!

All we need to remember, is that the Media's job is NOT to report the news. Their job is to get you to WATCH them as they try to report their version of the news. Half of the media does not know what is true or not until they read about it in the NY Times the next day. Even then, the odds are that they will mess that up too.

Depends. 70 armed men who kill dozens of your guys and seize territory is a major problem. 70 armed men who die hideously trying to get into your compound is not a major problem.

Why am I typing all this? For news junkies like me stuck in a camp high in the Andes with no access to FOX. THANKS!! It is appreciated.

I'm surprised that so many here are so optimistic and think that when we hand over power on June 30th things will work out. I hope they go from ripping bodies apart and stringing them up on bridges to peacefully voting in democratic elections.
This is a savage area of the world. Study their history you will see that what we are trying to accomplish (establish a democracy in the middle east) has never been done in the history of mankind.

I am so perturbed at the media reports of our soldiers being killed. My only thoughts right now are that may God be with them and keep them safe.

Absolutely, kcvl! We will never forget them!
I imagine there are Dims out there who are HAPPY with today's casualties.
Go Marines, and God bless and keep you safe!

[Human wave attacks in Ar Ramadi.....what does that tell you.]
For the google-challenged and/or for those who are not old enough to remember the Iran-Iraq war:
"The Iranians continued to employ unsophisticated human wave attacks while Iraqi defenders remained, for the most part in a defensive posture."

After all, Kerry wouldn't want to sneeze without getting the proper UN resolution.Actually, "president" Kerry wouldn't know which hand to wipe himself with without gaining concensus from Kofi and wife Teresa.
