Senior Jordanian officials warned Israel not to attempt targeted killings on its territory so as not to endanger provoking additional violence in the region, reported Israel Radio Tuesday afternoon.
The daily al-Dustour newspaper quoted a government source commenting on press reports that Israeli hit teams were targetting Palestinian leaders in neighboring countries, including Jordan.
"Such policy will have a catastrophic impact on the whole region and plunge it in a vicious circle of violence in addition to threatening the mere existence of a peace process," the source said.
In 1997, an attempt on the life of Hamas' Militant leader Khaled Mashal failed when ten Mossad agents carrying Canadian passports entered Jordan, where Mashal was living, and injected him with a toxic substance.
At the time of the assassination attempt Mashal was considered Hamas' Jordanian branch chief.
Jordan also doesn't allow Jews to become citizens of its country, or own land. In addition, Jordan does not have an ambassador in Egypt.
There is no peace with Jordan, nor does Egypt, as we already know from just the numerous weapons tunnels Egypt harbors for terrorists, and the fact Egypt has been rearming all these years to face Israel.
