"The bulk of the coalition force has remained on Fallujah's edge, apparently held at bay by tough resistance from anti-American fighters against Marine forays probing the outskirts."

AP make poor military analysts.

The goal isn't to advance as rapidly as possible, it's to advance in a way that has the lowest cost to your forces and the greatest cost to the enemy.

The enemy defenders have a small number of troops and no resupply and square miles to defend.

They have to move them around rapidly to defend against Marine probing attacks and feints. Thanks to the our electronic warfare guys, they now have no communication and will experience rapid loss of cohesion and breakdown. Then it's a turkey shoot.

Remember the "quagmire" when we took Baghdad? "US forces scared to enter Baghdad!" BS! Our guys fight on their terms, not on the enemies terms.

Fox News Report: Our guys were taking fire from a mosque and an open field. A C-130 was brought in to take care of that.

The role once played by Lord Haw Haw, Axis Sally and Tokyo Rose in World War II has now be taken over by the American liberal news media.

Good points. Couple that with my speculation that the salamikazes will likely rush to reinforce their "tough resistance," and your salami shoot is ready to go.
